For a multinational company that manufactures complex machines we are looking for:

PURCHASING MANAGER

Responsibilities:

- Managing the purchasing process including the buying, selling and distributions aspects of the plant;

- Developing and implementing purchasing strategies according to the Group Purchasing Director;

- Reviewing new project proposals;

- Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc;

- Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records and related documentation;

- Coordinating with inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs;

- Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications;

- Managing and leading members of the Purchasing and Logistics team;

- Implementing improvements to existing purchasing processes and delivery systems;

- Handling contract negotiations with vendors and suppliers;

- Identifying ideal suppliers based on quality, costs and reliability;

- Direct involvement with manufacturing and material requirements to ensure consistent flow of materials to support production;

- Developing inventory controls to identify demands.

- Master degree in Purchasing /Logistics /Business Administration;

- Successful experience (at least 5 years) as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar position in the mechanical industry;

- Experience with manufacturing and costs accounting;

- Strong understanding of the market conditions and trends;

- Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management;

- Supervisory and management experience;

- Fluent in English and Italian (both written and verbal), French is an asset;

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software;

- Excellent communication skills and strong analytical skills;

- Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills;

- Strong planning and organizational skills;

- Ability to work independently and team-oriented.
