Senior Applications & Solutions Engineer Autonomous Manipulative Mobile Robots (AMMR)

In this role you will scale ABB’s Autonomous Manipulative Mobile Robotics (AMMR) technology across global customer applications. You’ll bridge product development, operations, and delivery to turn innovative robotics into robust, repeatable solutions. You’ll influence the evolution of a breakthrough offering by collaborating with customers, Product Management, and R&D. This is a global, hybrid role with substantial travel, offering a chance to impact deployments from pilots to commercial scale.Retribuzione / Benefits
- Define and drive validation, verification, and TRL strategy for AMMR, including KPIs, acceptance criteria, and deployment milestones from pilot to scale
- Own technical success of AMMR pilots and early deployments; lead troubleshooting, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement
- Develop and maintain reference architectures, templates, and engineering standards for AMMR across market segments
- Translate customer requirements into scalable concepts, system specs, and interface definitions ensuring feasibility, performance, safety, and repeatability
- Drive development of new applications and solution variants through structured feedback to Product Management and R&D
- Serve as primary technical interface between Product Management, R&D, Global/Local Engineering, and customers; enable deployments via best practices, documentation, and training
- Lead and mentor AMMR Application Engineers to promote engineering excellence, standardization, and reuse of validated solutions
- 8+ years of experience in robotics, industrial automation, autonomous systems, or complex electromechanical products
- Proven ability to translate customer requirements into scalable technical solutions (architectures, interfaces, deployment concepts)
- Strong systems engineering mindset with hands‑on integration of robotic systems, controls, software, safety, and IT/OT environments
- Experience supporting pilots, proofs‑of‑concept, and early deployments with validation and performance assessment
- Proven collaboration across Product Management, R&D, engineering, operations, and customer teams; technical leadership and mentoring
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; willingness to travel up to 50%
