Head of Development Italy & Malta - Melià Hotels International

Overview

In this role, you will proactively research and analyze new hotel opportunities in the assigned area and drive their incorporation under franchise. You will act as a functional liaison for negotiations with internal partners and manage feasibility studies. You'll present projects for approval, prioritize them per the expansion plan, and build a strong local network to support growth. The position involves market analysis, negotiations, and close collaboration with the VP Development to shape the company's strategic expansion.

Responsabilità

• Present internal project proposals for approval and define next steps
• Prioritize projects according to the defined expansion strategy
• Lead or support negotiations with owners and investors as per policy
• Prepare documentation needed for project approvals
• Build and maintain a strong network of contacts in the assigned area
• Continuously analyze the local market to identify growth opportunities and support brand expansion

Requisiti fondamentali

• Minimum 5 years in a similar role focused on negotiation processes
• Experience in multinational environments; hotels, agencies, TTOO, or hotel market consultants preferred
• Proven ability to access networks of contacts, owners, investors or hotel operators
• Strong decision making, selling, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Fluency in Italian and English
• Willingness to travel 4–5 days per month
• Graduation in Economics, Tourism, or Law preferred
