ph3Head of Research Development – Mobility Transport Planning /h3 pTo strengthen our Research Development Department, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Research Development to lead and coordinate innovative research activities in the field of mobility and transport planning. /p pThe ideal candidate will have a strong academic and professional background in transportation theory and mobility-related topics, covering a wide interdisciplinary spectrum ranging from sociological and behavioral aspects to digital systems, big data analytics, and emerging technologies applied to transport studies. /p pThe role focuses on the development of advanced analytical tools to identify mobility trends, understand travel behavior, and assess the complex interactions between people’s movements and the built environment. This position requires a solid research-oriented approach combined with strong leadership and project coordination skills. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liLead and manage the Research Development Department, coordinating multidisciplinary teams of analysts and researchers. /li liDevelop innovative methodologies and analytical tools based on big data analytics and machine learning applied to mobility studies. /li liSupervise the execution of complex research projects related to transport systems, travel behavior, and urban mobility dynamics. /li liPromote collaboration with universities, research institutions, and international partners. /li liSupport postgraduate research programs, mentoring PhD candidates and supervising academic collaborations. /li liContribute directly to high-level scientific and technical studies through geo-statistical analysis and GIS-based modeling. /li /ul h3Technical Skills and Expertise /h3 ul liStrong background in transportation research and applied mobility studies. /li liProven experience in geo-statistical analysis and GIS-based spatial analysis. /li liAdvanced programming skills using Python and R, with working knowledge of SQL for data management. /li liPractical experience with machine learning techniques, both supervised and unsupervised, applied to big datasets in the mobility domain. /li liSolid understanding of big data analytics and their application to modeling travel behavior and mobility-environment interactions. /li /ul h3Soft Skills and Personal Attributes /h3 ul liLeadership and ability to manage multidisciplinary teams. /li liProactive attitude, high level of initiative, and strong problem-solving orientation. /li liCuriosity and genuine enthusiasm for transport and mobility topics. /li liExcellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. /li liWillingness to travel for project development, research activities, and international collaborations. /li /ul h3Language Requirements /h3 ul liFluent English and Italian (mandatory). /li liAdditional languages will be considered a plus. /li /ul h3Working Conditions /h3 ul liFlexible working arrangements, with a hybrid model combining smart working and office-based activities. /li /ul pAbout us: MIC-HUB is an international team of planners, engineers, designers and consultants, working across every aspect of mobility and transportation.
