What You Will Do

You will play a key role in ensuring efficient and compliant waste management onboard, contributing to environmental sustainability and operational excellence.

Act as Designated Person within the Garbage Management Plan, responsible for all waste management processes onboard; Monitor proper waste segregation and ensure full compliance with environmental regulations and company procedures; Coordinate waste disposal operations and ensure correct labeling, storage, and landing of all waste types; Prepare Waste Notifications for ports and ensure compliance with ship-specific Waste Disposal Schedules; Support audits and inspections, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders; Provide training and guidance to crew on waste management and hazardous materials handling; Promote process improvements, cost-saving initiatives, and sustainability projects onboard; Act as a point of contact between ship and shore for waste management initiatives;

Who You Are

You are a structured and motivated professional with a strong interest in sustainability and environmental operations, eager to work in a dynamic and international environment.

Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies or equivalent; Experience in waste management, wastewater management, or strong sustainability background; Fluent English (minimum B2 level); Strong organizational and analytical skills; Ability to work independently and manage operational processes; Good communication and collaboration skills in a multicultural environment;

Nice to have

Experience in maritime or cruise industry; Experience in supervising teams or coordinating operational activities; Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance procedures;
