About the Company

We are working with an international retail business looking to appoint an International Expansion Manager to support and drive its continued growth across the Italian market.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, commercially important role, working closely with the company’s directors on the rollout of new stores across Italy. The business is targeting approximately 10 new store openings per year, making this a strong opportunity for someone with deep retail property knowledge, strong market contacts and the ability to operate independently. The role will involve regular travel across Italy, typically around 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess suitable new store locations
  • Conduct on-site analyses and feasibility studies
  • Review, monitor and negotiate leases for new and existing properties
  • Build and maintain relationships with estate agents, landlords, centre operators and property owners
  • Support the directors with strategic expansion planning
  • Provide market insight and recommendations for future growth

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in retail expansion, real estate, store development, leasing or property acquisition
  • Fluent Italian and English
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel regularly

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of the Italian property market
  • Established network across landlords, agents, developers or retail property contacts
  • Good understanding of lease law and commercial property negotiations
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confident, autonomous and commercially minded approach

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in fashion retail would be highly advantageous
  • German language skills would be a plus
  • Experience in a multi-site retail environment such as fashion, lifestyle, FMCG or grocery would be beneficial

Pay Range and Compensation Package

€80,000 base salary + bonus
