Nestlé Purina PetCare - Industrial Services | Utilities Engineer (Greenfield Project) - Mantova

As Industrial Services | Utilities Engineer, you will ensure robust utility management (MEP) for the new manufacturing site, driving safe, compliant, and efficient operation of steam, water, HVAC, and electrical systems. You will collaborate with construction, commissioning, and operations teams to deliver reliable utility distribution and start-up success. This role blends design review, installation oversight, commissioning, and ongoing safety and environmental compliance within a global quality-focused organization. • Oversee utility distribution systems (steam, condensate, compressed air, chilled water, process water, potable water, HVAC interfaces, gas, electrical networks)
• Review utility system designs, P&IDs, layouts, specs and contractor submissions; participate in design and constructability reviews
• Coordinate utility installation with contractors; support construction planning and sequencing; resolve technical issues
• Prepare and execute commissioning plans; coordinate testing and startup activities; verify performance against design
• Assist on SAT, commissioning, and handover; ensure all utility systems are operational
• Promote safe design and construction practices; support permit-to-work and contractor safety programs; ensure regulatory compliance
• Ensure food safety and hygienic design compliance in utility systems
• Monitor construction progress against milestones and manage punch-list activities
• Operate and supervise utilities-related equipment (AHU, chillers, boilers, water treatment, BMS, electrical equipment)
• Provide ongoing support for safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements throughout project lifecycle

• Engineering degree with substantial practical experience in industrial services in a food-related manufacturing environment (5+ years)
• Experience with large distributed utility systems and industrial plants (steam, refrigeration, water, effluent, HVAC, compressed air)
• Experience with P&IDs and utility design reviews; knowledge of Nestlé Engineering Standards and local regulations
• Experience supervising or operating heating systems, boilers, or large combustion systems; ammonia experience preferred
• Fluency in Italian and English
• Ability to coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and cross-functional teams during construction and start-up
