Country Manager

To ensure the full implementation and development of tour operating activities in Italy, strengthening strategic relationships with suppliers, public institutions, and local partners;
guaranteeing exceptional product quality;
and representing the company before key stakeholders in the tourism sector and governmental authorities.Key Responsibilities
- Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Define and execute the national tour operating strategy in Italy, aligned with the company’s global objectives and with a strong focus on contracting tourist product.
- Oversee the implementation of processes, operational standards, and corporate policies.
- Identify business opportunities, expansion areas, and product diversification initiatives.
- Institutional Relations Management
- Maintain and develop high‑level institutional relationships with embassies and consulates, municipalities and local governments, ministries and other relevant governmental bodies.
- Participate in official events, industry forums, tourism roundtables, and institutional meetings to represent and strengthen the company’s presence in the country.
- Collaborate with public entities on strategic projects, tourism promotion programs, and product development initiatives.
- Commercial & Product Management
- Drive the development of the tourism product in Italy, ensuring competitiveness, differentiation, and high-quality standards.
- Supervise contracting with ground suppliers, DMCs, and strategic local partners.
- Align market needs with corporate brands and departments (product, marketing, sales, and operations).
- Prepare and oversee the national budget, including sales, margins, investments, and forecast.
- Monitor financial performance and ensure profitability of the destination.
- Implement continuous improvement plans to optimize revenue and cost structures.
- Company Representation & Reputation
- Serve as the company’s top representative in Italy, ensuring a strong, professional, and trustworthy image.
- Act as spokesperson before institutions, industry associations, and strategic partners.
- Lead and motivate the local team, promoting high performance and strong engagement.
- Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and customer orientation.
- Ensure proper alignment with corporate standards and best practices.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Business Administration, International Relations, or related fields.
- Additional training in business management, negotiation, or project management is a plus.
Languages (mandatory)
- Italian: Native or equivalent professional level
- English: Advanced professional level (C1)
- Spanish: Native or equivalent professional level
Professional Experience
- 5–7+ years in the tourism sector, ideally in tour operating or product development.
- Proven experience in team management, complex negotiation, and commercial leadership.
- Prior involvement with governmental institutions or public entities is highly valued.
- Experience in international markets or multinational environments.
