Director of Sales | 4* Superior Hotel

A well-established 4* Superior hotel located in the heart of Milan is currently seeking a Director of Sales to lead its commercial and brand positioning strategy. This key leadership role is part of the Executive Committee and reports directly to the General Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of the hotel’s annual commercial strategy, including sales, marketing, communications, and public relations.
• Define revenue forecasts and marketing budgets, monitor performance metrics (P&L), and drive initiatives to meet and exceed financial targets.
• Collaborate with Revenue Management to create and implement business plans that align with market dynamics and hotel objectives.
• Analyze key market trends, demand generators, and economic indicators to guide business decisions and identify growth opportunities.
• Oversee and support the entire sales cycle: from prospecting and contracting to account development and long-term relationship management.
• Drive brand visibility through coordinated marketing efforts, digital campaigns, and public relations strategies in collaboration with agency partners.
• Plan and execute sales missions, international trade shows, and client entertainment based on business priorities; travel may include weekends and evenings.
• Ensure smooth coordination and communication between sales, operations, and guest-facing departments to deliver a consistent customer experience.
• Organize familiarization trips, on-site inspections, and corporate events aimed at strengthening partnerships and increasing bookings.
• Present commercial performance and strategies during monthly internal and stakeholder meetings.
• Support team development through coaching, clear performance metrics, and alignment on service standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in hotel sales & marketing, ideally in upscale hospitality environments.
• Strong strategic mindset and hands-on approach to both sales leadership and marketing execution.
• Proven experience managing diverse markets and segments, with availability to travel internationally.
• High level of emotional intelligence and ability to engage with stakeholders from various cultural and professional backgrounds.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Italian.
• Excellent presentation skills and confidence in leading negotiations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and the ability to adapt to hospitality-specific systems and tools.
