Field Service Engineer (Temp. Contract) - Communications & SCADA - Italy

ph3Your mission /h3 pCiao a tutti! Benvenuti in Sungrow — dove la tecnologia incontra il futuro dell'energia pulita. /p h3Role /h3 pWe are looking for a Field Service Engineer specialised in Communications SCADA to join our growing Service team in Italy. This is not your average field role — you'll be the technical backbone our clients rely on when it matters most. When something goes wrong on a plant, you're the one who sees the full picture and knows exactly where to look. Intrigued? Here's what your days will look like: /p ul liTake full ownership of customer issues related to communications, monitoring and control involving our inverters and battery storage systems, driving each case from first contact to resolution. /li liAnalyse and discriminate faults across the plant — determining whether an issue originates in our equipment or in third-party systems such as PPC, EMS, SCADA or the wider communication network. /li liWork hands-on with industrial communication networks (Modbus TCP/RTU and related protocols), interpreting registers, logs and data flows to pinpoint the root cause of any problem. /li liSupport commissioning activities by verifying that our inverters and BESS communicate correctly with the customer's PPC, EMS and SCADA systems, acting as the go-to technical reference on site. /li liUse data analysis to identify communication faults, performance deviations and control issues, and translate findings into clear, actionable corrective proposals. /li liPerform on-site installation, commissioning, repair, maintenance and testing tasks, while always following Health Safety procedures and applicable regulations. /li /ul h3Your profile /h3 pAll right — now that you've got a feel for the role, let's talk about you. To truly thrive here and build something meaningful over the long term, your background should look a lot like this: /p ul liA solid educational foundation in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications or Automation Engineering or a related technical discipline. /li liStrong knowledge of industrial communication protocols — especially Modbus (TCP/RTU) — and familiarity with others such as IEC 61850, DNP3 or OPC-UA. /li liHands-on experience with SCADA systems, remote monitoring platforms and VPN/remote connections to plant assets. /li liGood understanding of PPC and EMS platforms and how inverters and BESS integrate within them. /li liData analysis skills to diagnose and discriminate communication and control faults across complex, multi-vendor environments. /li liPractical troubleshooting capabilities on site, including a working understanding of AC/DC and Low/Medium Voltage systems. /li liItalian and English language proficiency at C1 level or above; additional European languages are a plus. /li liA valid driving licence — this one is essential for the role. /li liWillingness to travel (approximately 60%) and to take on on-call duties, including occasional evenings and weekends. /li liExperience with Battery Storage solutions and customer-facing work in critical or high-pressure situations are considered strong advantages. /li liPreferably based in or around Milan. /li /ul h3Why us? /h3 pAt Sungrow's European Service team, you won't just be fixing problems — you'll be building the technical expertise that keeps clean energy flowing across the continent. Our Field Service team operates at the intersection of cutting-edge inverter and storage technology and the complex communication ecosystems of modern renewable energy plants. /p pYou'll work in a collaborative, international environment where your analytical mindset and technical depth are genuinely valued. We invest in your growth, support you with strong back-office and engineering teams, and give you the autonomy to make real decisions on site. If you're ready to be the technical expert our clients trust when it counts, we'd love to hear from you. /p h3About Us /h3 pWe are a green tech company with young creative minds. /p pWe are fighting every day to make our mission happen – Clean Power for All! /p pWith 870+GW of clean power presently installed worldwide, we are on the road to success! /p pWelcome at Sungrow /p pFounded in 1997 by University Professor Cao Renxian, Sungrow is a leader in the research and development of solar inverters with the largest dedicated RD team in the industry and a broad product portfolio offering PV inverter solutions and energy storage systems for utility-scale, commercial industrial, and residential applications, as well as internationally recognized floating PV plant solutions, NEV driving solutions, EV charging solutions and renewable hydrogen production systems. /p pWant to know more?
