Aero Senior Field Service Engineer (M/F/D)

We are looking for a Senior Aeroderivative Turbine Mechanical Field Service Engineer to serve as the first point of contact for our global customers on site. You will lead activities, manage people, and ensure HSE compliance to a high standard while safely installing, maintaining, and repairing Aeroderivative Turbines.

As part of the Field Service team within our Industry & Energy Technology (IET) division, you will contribute to the optimization of energy extraction, production, and processing, helping a diverse range of customers reduce operating costs and improve productivity.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction for site activities to internal teams and skilled labor, ensuring safety, compliance, and quality.
• Perform all mechanical and hydraulic maintenance, repair or replacement of parts for Aeroderivative Gas Turbines.
• Use hand tools and small power tools to conduct general maintenance and execute hands‑on job duties on site.
• Coordinate with sub‑contractors and manage customer/internal communication.
• Troubleshoot complicated mechanical and hydraulic problems on variable-pitch/variable-speed turbines.
• Oversee overhaul, troubleshooting, and commissioning of Aeroderivative products at customer sites.
• Lead hot-section replacement, top-case work, and other advanced site maintenance activities.
• Assess component residual life and advise on technical solutions.
• Lead customer and contractor meetings to share and update action plans and provide technical guidance.
• Ensure internal training, compliance, and quality documentation is updated, followed, and completed per company standards.
• Maintain safety by complying with company environmental health & safety (EHS) guidelines and procedures.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a mechanical technician on aircraft engines, aero-derivative engines, or other turbine technology (preferred LM series with Level 2-4 inspection expertise).
• Strong mechanical and technical skills with excellent oral communication.
• Proven knowledge of installation and maintenance of rotating equipment, bolting, hydraulic bolting, flange management, and small-bore piping.
• Extensive experience with gas turbine maintenance activities, ideally in an energy or oil-and-gas environment.
• Customer-service orientation and ability to lead customers through difficult decisions.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences.
• Deep awareness of health, safety, and environmental compliance and risk management.
• Motivated self-starter capable of making key decisions and innovating solutions.
• Good command of English.
• Availability to travel globally up to 70% of the time.
• Holder of an EU passport or a European work permit.
