Equipment and Automation Engineer - Industrialisation

With more than two decades of experience, automated manufacturing capabilities and around 200 employees, SolydEra combines multidisciplinary expertise across RD, engineering, manufacturing and commercial activities in Italy, Switzerland and Australia, supporting the industrialization and deployment of solid oxide technology at scale. /p h3Job Purpose /h3 pThe Equipment and Automation Engineer reports to the Head of Industrialisation and is responsible for the specification, installation, commissioning and qualification of production equipment, tooling and automation systems for SOFC manufacturing. /p pThe role manages equipment projects from technical requirements through to production hand-over, while improving equipment bperformance, reliability, availability and automation /b. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liDefine technical requirements and specifications for production equipment, tooling and automation systems, supporting supplier selection and procurement. /li liManage installation, commissioning and qualification activities, including bFAT/SAT and IQ/OQ/PQ /b. /li liDefine automation and digitalisation requirements, including data acquisition, traceability and manufacturing system interfaces. /li liManage tooling, fixtures and production equipment, ensuring reliability, maintenance and spare parts strategies. /li liMonitor and improve bOEE, availability, performance and quality /b, analysing losses and implementing corrective actions. /li liSupport maintenance, calibration, capacity planning, equipment upgrades and obsolescence management. /li liEnsure bmachine safety, CE compliance, risk assessment and technical documentation /b. /li liCoordinate equipment projects, internal functions and external engineering/automation suppliers, managing scope, budget, schedule and acceptance criteria. /li /ul h3Qualifications Experience /h3 ul liDegree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Automation, Electrical or Industrial Engineering. /li lib5+ years of experience /b in Equipment Engineering, Automation, Manufacturing Engineering or a similar production environment. /li liExperience in technology-intensive manufacturing environments such as fuel cells, batteries, electronics, advanced ceramics, automotive or medical devices. /li liProven experience with production equipment specification, procurement, installation, commissioning and qualification. /li liGood understanding of bPLC, HMI, industrial communication, sensors, drives, robotics and vision systems /b. Programming experience is not required. /li liKnowledge of machine safety, CE marking, risk assessment, OEE and structured problem solving. /li liExperience managing external suppliers and equipment projects, including budget and schedule control. /li liGood command of bExcel and data analysis /b; familiarity with ERP, CMMS or manufacturing execution systems is a plus. /li libFluent English required; Italian highly preferred. /b /li liExperience with high-temperature processes, furnaces, brazing, ceramic processing or controlled-environment production is a plus. /li /ul h3Personal Skills /h3 ul liStructured, pragmatic and results-oriented approach. /li liHands-on attitude and willingness to work on the production floor and at suppliers' premises. /li liStrong organisational, project management and problem-solving skills. /li liEffective communication and collaboration across Production, Maintenance, Quality, HSEQ and Supply Chain. /li liStrong safety awareness, integrity and confidentiality. /li /ul h3Working Conditions /h3 pThe role is based in bPergine Valsugana (Trento), Italy /b, with regular presence on the production floor and at suppliers' premises. /p pAvailability to travel, including internationally, is required. /p h3Salary range: /h3 p€ 35.000 – € 45.000 gross annual salary (RAL), depending on the candidate's qualifications, experience and skills. /p pSolydera is an equal opportunity employer.
