Manager, Field Engineering Italy

As Field Engineering Manager in Milan, you lead a team of pre-sales Solutions Architects and Solutions Engineers to drive revenue through value-focused, collaborative engagement. You will mentor, scale, and align field engineers with sales and partners, shaping a customer-obsessed culture in a hyper-growth environment. You communicate complex business value, support large deals, and strengthen strategic partnerships to amplify Databricks’ brand and impact.

• Lead and grow the pre-sales team in Italy (Solutions Architects/Engineers)
• Partner with sales to drive revenue through value-based approaches
• Hire, mentor, and build a collaborative, high-performance culture
• Improve ROI of solutions architects’ involvement in sales cycles
• Promote solution- and value-based selling within the FE organization
• Understand account needs and revenue potential in the region
• Engage with customer executives to fortify strategic partnerships
• Align with partners and internal services on implementation strategies
• Strengthen Databricks' brand as part of the regional Leadership Team with Marketing and Sales across the region
• Experience managing a team of Big Data, Cloud, or SaaS professionals
• Experience in consumption-based business environments
• Mentoring and scaling technical teams
• Proven ability to establish processes for technical field members to improve efficiency and product focus
• Ability to collaborate with Sales and cross-functional leaders
• Passion for data and AI and ability to articulate value of Databricks solutions
• Technical or consulting background in Data Engineering, Database technologies, or Data Science
• Strong communication skills; Italian native speaker and fluent in English
