Principal Procurement Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead procurement activities for energy systems within the APX Global Supply Chain Solution team, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and quality-compliant delivery. You will monitor projects, remove roadblocks, and develop sourcing plans to reduce risk and generate savings. You'll serve as the primary interface with business, engineering, quality, and sales teams, including external customers, while keeping a focus on regulatory and procurement policy compliance. This is a 100% remote position with travel to supplier sites in Europe possible.

Responsabilità

• Support development of procurement strategies and plans with Offer and Project Management teams
• Identify demand, potential suppliers, and establish supplier communication channels
• Support commercial sourcing strategies, solicit quotations, analyze proposals, lead contract preparation
• Analyze cost elements for commodity groups to identify cost improvements
• Develop strategies to maximize supplier base cost/value
• Cultivate and manage supplier relationships while addressing performance issues
• Understand supplier capacity, capabilities, and manufacturing processes in collaboration with the Supplier Performance Excellence Organization
• Manage post-purchase commitments including change and contract management; resolve invoice-purchase order discrepancies

Requisiti fondamentali

• Degree in Engineering
• 10+ years of global procurement or global supplier project management experience
• Experience working with multinational teams
• Nuclear or mechanical professional background
• Proficiency in English
• Italian or Spanish knowledge is a plus
• Availability to travel up to 10-20% to supplier sites in Italy or Spain
