VP of Technology & Product

To take our company to the next level, we're looking for a VP of Technology & Product to lead the next chapter of our Technology & Product organisation.

We're looking for a technically credible, product-minded leader who combines strategic thinking with pragmatic execution and leads with trust, strong leadership and low ego .

Reporting to the COO , you'll lead Engineering, Product and Design across an organisation of ~50 people , bringing these disciplines together around a shared strategy while empowering their respective leaders.

You'll also play a key role in driving Unobravo's responsible adoption of AI and emerging technologies , identifying opportunities to create meaningful value while ensuring innovation remains grounded in clinical integrity, user trust, safety and regulatory requirements .

Unobravo is first and foremost a mental health company . Technology enables our mission; this role will ensure Product and Technology can deliver it responsibly and at scale .

The Essentials

• Preferred Location: Milan-based. As a senior leadership role, we expect regular in-person presence in our Milan office (2/3 days/week) recognising the value of face-to-face collaboration at this level.

• Salary range: Starting from €100,000 gross annual base salary, with the final package determined based on experience and scope, in line with our commitment to transparent and equitable compensation practices.

• Strategy & Prioritisation : Driving an integrated technology strategy that serves both patients and therapists, translates company priorities into clear direction and roadmaps and balances user needs, clinical impact, business value, scalability and long-term sustainability.

• Cross-Functional Leadership : Creating the conditions for Engineering, Product and Design to operate as a cohesive, outcome-oriented organisation.

• Executive Communication & Influence : Representing Technology and Product at leadership level, translating complex trade-offs, constraints and risks into clear business implications and advocating for the investments needed to support the company over the long term.

• Technology Scalability & Reliability : Ensuring Unobravo operates a scalable, secure and reliable technology platform capable of supporting our long-term ambitions.

• Pragmatic Engineering Culture : Fostering a pragmatic engineering culture that values simplicity, maintainability and impact over unnecessary complexity or hype-driven technology decisions.

• Technical Sustainability : Balancing speed and innovation with technical sustainability, including the effective management of technical debt, architecture and platform evolution.

• AI Strategy & Governance : Shaping and championing the organisation’s AI strategy and culture, influencing how teams adopt, experiment with and embed AI into their ways of working, while establishing appropriate governance and ensuring alignment with clinical, ethical, security and regulatory standards.

• Leadership & Talent Development : Leading, coaching and developing senior leaders across Engineering, Product and Design, creating strong functional leadership while fostering collaboration across disciplines.

• Low-Ego Culture & Ownership : Building a low-ego culture where teams have meaningful ownership, people can challenge decisions openly and the best ideas win regardless of hierarchy.

• Customer-Centred Delivery : Ensuring teams deliver meaningful value through customer insight, experimentation, data-informed iteration and high-quality execution.

⚙️ YOU WILL BE THE PERFECT FIT IF YOU HAVE:

Technology & Product Leadership

• Significant leadership experience within Engineering or Technology , with meaningful responsibility for Product and cross-functional product development organisations.

• A strong technical foundation and credibility, with the ability to understand architecture, challenge technical decisions and evaluate technology trade-offs without undermining team ownership.

• Strong product judgement and the ability to balance customer value, business priorities, engineering sustainability and speed of execution.

• A track record of delivering successful digital products and scaling technology organisations in high-growth environments.

• Experience in regulated or highly trust-sensitive environments such as healthcare, fintech or other data-sensitive platforms is highly valued.

Organisational & People Leadership

• Proven experience leading and developing leaders , building high-performing teams and evolving organisations as they scale.

• A l ow-ego leadership style characterised by intellectual humility, curiosity, direct communication and a genuine commitment to enabling others to succeed .

• The ability to create clarity and accountability while giving leaders and teams meaningful autonomy.

Business & Executive Leadership

• Strong business acumen and the ability to connect Technology and Product decisions to broader company outcomes.

• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders , communicate complexity simply and advocate for long-term technology needs in business terms.

• The confidence to challenge decisions constructively and stand behind Product and Technology needs when they serve the company's long-term interests.

• Strong strategic thinking combined with the pragmatism to know when good enough is better than perfect.

AI & Responsible Innovation

• Strong u nderstanding of AI and emerging technologies and the ability to identify where they can create meaningful value for users and the business.

• Experience navigating the ethical, security, governance or regulatory considerations associated with technology and AI adoption.

• A thoughtful approach to innovation that balances opportunity with Unobravo's responsibility towards patients, therapists and their data.

Power-Ups

• Experience leading or partnering closely with Design and Research functions.

• Experience operating in a European regulatory environment .

• Experience scaling organisations across multiple markets.
