Engineer Project Associate

ph3Job Description /h3 pWe are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Engineer Project Associate to lead certification and testing projects from initiation through completion. In this role, you will work closely with clients, laboratories and internal stakeholders to evaluate products against applicable standards, manage project timelines and provide technical guidance throughout the certification process. Success in this position requires strong engineering expertise, project management skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with customers while delivering high-quality, compliant solutions. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liDetermines project scope, develops a preliminary plan of investigation, and determines project specifications such as cost, time, and sample requirements by analyzing client input, available supplemental data, and product construction. /li liProjects may include travel to conduct or witness tests at client sites. Initiates communication with clients to promote and explain the benefits of new and existing services. /li liFollows up on contacts from clients. /li liCommunicates with clients to discuss technical issues, explain UL procedures and requirements, convey project cost, and negotiate completion date and sample requirements. /li liActs to address client concerns and to resolve client issues. /li liProvides technical assistance to clients in reference to product inspection and follow-up services. /li liEstablishes appropriate test programs by reviewing files and manufacturer's information, examining samples, and applying UL requirements. /li liIs familiar with applicable standards, company manuals and appropriate technical literature. /li liExamines samples for compliance with UL requirements and notifies client of any areas in which the product is not in compliance or of any changes in project scope or specifications. /li liCoordinates laboratory activities by preparing data sheets and instructions to technicians, scheduling and reviewing work of laboratory technicians and engineering support staff and establishing completion dates. /li liCoordinates administrative aspects of project management. /li liServes as Project Handler of record and may sign as Reviewer of record as assigned. /li liCommunicates project status and results to clients through frequent contact and by preparing reports. /li liPrepares Follow-Up Service Procedures and information pages. /li liIntegrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job. /li liResolves engineering issues associated with Variation Notices by analyzing and reporting on the acceptability of the variations. /li liAssists in the development of UL requirements. /li liAssists in developing special test methods and test equipment. /li liAnalyzes test program for adequacy and sequence. /li liMay coordinate and/or perform File Reviews, as directed. /li liMay represent UL at industry related functions such as seminars and trade shows. /li liRead and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices. /li liPerforms other duties as directed. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liUniversity Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology or Physics from an accredited program plus two years directly related experience. /li liDetailed knowledge of the technical vocabulary common to the appropriate discipline. /li liBasic knowledge of laboratory testing apparatus and techniques common to the appropriate discipline. /li /ul h3What we offer /h3 pThe annual salary range for this position is EUR 30.900 - 41.100 gross, determined by numerous factors, including knowledge, skills, and experience (Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA): Commerce Sector - Job Classification Level: Level 3).
