Group Financial Controller

Tecnocap , a fast-growing Italian multinational Group operating in the packaging industry, with manufacturing facilities across Europe, India, Saudi Arabia, the United States and South America, is seeking a Group Financial Controller to strengthen its Corporate Finance function at the Group's Italian headquarters.

The position requires at least 15 years of experience in Finance & Controlling, a professional background in the packaging industry, and in-depth knowledge of industrial and manufacturing processes . These are essential requirements for the role.

The Role
The successful candidate will oversee the Group's planning, controlling and reporting processes, ensuring an integrated view of financial, economic and industrial performance to support both strategic and operational decision-making.
Acting as a key representative of the headquarters across the Group's manufacturing sites, the Group Financial Controller will promote Group standards, a strong controlling culture and shared management priorities. Through continuous interaction with local teams, the role will contribute to building a consistent, reliable and sufficiently granular Group-wide information base, enabling a clear understanding of performance and supporting effective decision-making.
The position involves frequent international travel and regular on-site presence at the Group's manufacturing plants , which are integral parts of the role. First-hand knowledge of production processes and close collaboration with the teams responsible for them will be essential to validate data at source and ensure its consistency, granularity, traceability and integration.
Strong financial expertise must therefore be combined with the ability to understand how manufacturing facilities operate, interpret operational dynamics and assess their financial impact.

Key Responsibilities
Plant oversight and coordination with Group headquarters: work closely with Finance, Operations and Production teams across the Group's manufacturing sites, promoting shared methodologies and ensuring alignment with Group controlling standards and reporting requirements.
Industrial controlling and process analysis: develop a thorough understanding of production cycles, cost structures and data collection methodologies; analyse material consumption, yields, scrap, productivity and capacity utilisation, linking operational performance to cost trends and margins.
Data quality, granularity and integration: ensure consistent definitions, classifications and data-recording criteria across manufacturing sites. Ensure the availability of comparable and integrated information at the appropriate level of detail by plant, production line, cost centre, segment and product.
Data audit and validation: conduct structured reviews together with local teams, tracing information back to source and reconciling operational data, ERP systems and management reporting. Identify anomalies, inconsistencies and weaknesses in information processes, agree on corrective actions and monitor their implementation.
Group planning and controlling: oversee the preparation of the annual budget, forecasts and actuals, supporting international subsidiaries in preparing and consolidating management information in accordance with established methodologies and deadlines.
Reporting and profitability analysis: prepare management P&L statements and monthly reporting on production, sales and cash flow. Analyse profitability by segment and product, explain variances and provide actionable recommendations to management.
Performance monitoring: analyse financial, economic, industrial and ESG KPIs, assessing their reliability and methodological consistency and translating findings into clear priorities for action.
Business planning and investment appraisal: develop business plans and financial models for strategic projects and new investment and development initiatives, assessing feasibility, profitability and funding requirements based on robust and verifiable industrial assumptions.

Experience and Professional Requirements
At least 15 years of relevant experience in Finance & Controlling , including significant experience in industrial or manufacturing controlling, preferably within international groups operating multiple manufacturing facilities.
A professional background in the packaging industry , combined with a strong understanding of its manufacturing and economic dynamics.
In-depth knowledge of industrial and manufacturing processes , particularly production cycles, bills of materials (BOMs), standard and actual costing, material consumption, yields, scrap and inventory valuation. The ability to link these elements to management accounting data and financial performance is essential.
