R&D Software Engineer

ppbValmont Solar, /ba leading company in the solar tracker industry worldwide, is looking for an bRD Software Engineer /b to support the development of innovative technologies across its solar PV and tracker portfolio. /p pThe role combines software development, control systems engineering, data analysis, and product innovation activities within the Research Development team. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, testing, validation, and continuous improvement of products and digital solutions, supporting both current business priorities and the company's long-term technology roadmap. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liSupport research and development activities for solar tracker products and related digital technologies. /li liDesign, develop, and validate software applications, control algorithms, and data-driven solutions. /li liContribute to prototype development, testing activities, and proof-of-concept projects. /li liAnalyze system performance data and identify opportunities for product optimization and innovation. /li liCollaborate with mechanical, electrical, and product engineering teams to develop integrated solutions. /li liSupport the integration of sensors, data acquisition systems, communication devices, and monitoring platforms. /li liExecute simulation, validation, and troubleshooting activities to ensure system performance and reliability. /li liParticipate in innovation projects involving automation, digitalization, predictive analytics, and emerging technologies. /li liContribute to the definition of technical specifications, testing procedures, and development standards. /li liPrepare technical documentation, reports, and recommendations based on research findings. /li liMonitor technology and market trends relevant to solar tracking systems, software applications, and industrial digitalization. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liBachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or a related field. /li liPrevious experience in RD, technology development, software engineering, automation, or related technical environments is preferred /li liKnowledge of programming languages such as Python, C/C++, or similar. /li liExperience with data analysis, simulation tools, and testing methodologies. /li liFamiliarity with sensors, communication protocols, IoT architectures, and control systems. /li liUnderstanding of system integration principles and product development processes. /li liExperience in renewable energy, industrial automation, or related sectors is considered a plus. /li liStrong analytical and problem-solving skills. /li liGood knowledge of English. /li /ul pPosition: Full-time /p pSalary: from 30k based on the candidate's experience + benefits /p pValmont Solar | Convert Italia SpA is committed to diversity and inclusion. /p pThe search is open to candidates of all genders (L. 903/77), and the data will be processed in accordance with Legislative Decree 101/2018 and the GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679). /p h3About the Company: /h3 pValmont Solar brings together more than 75 years as a global manufacturer of vital infrastructure, decades of trusted partnership with utilities and Convert’s 15 years of technical expertise in renewable energy generation.
