Experteer Overview
In this role you contribute to ABB’s technology and product development within the R&D environment. You’ll work on electro‑mechanical low voltage devices, driving innovative solutions from concept through testing and integration. You’ll operate within a cross‑functional R&D team, balancing independent work with collaboration to meet quality, time, and cost targets. The position offers international exposure and potential to influence product care and range extensions.Benefits
- Contribute as an independent, reliable R‑D team member on projects with limited supervision
- Design and implement mechanical, thermal, and software aspects from concept to validation and maintenance
- Apply processes and design constraints to ensure compliant architectures
- Drive target achievement (quality, time, scope, cost) and manage risks
- Design 2D/3D mechanical parts and assemblies for Low Voltage Breakers
- Support production, quality, and engineering during new product introductions or modifications
- Lead range extension releases for devices already in production
- Travel as needed for project execution (mainly to Rome)
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 2D/3D CAD knowledge (Catia V5 and Creo 8.0 preferred)
- Italian and English communication skills
- Strong MS Office, SAP, Windchill proficiency
- Experience with task management tools (DevOps and/or Jira)
- Familiarity with statistical tools (Minitab) and lean sigma
- Willingness to travel, mainly to Santa Palomba, Rome
