The activities associated with the project will vary and will be agreed with the Project Manager on an ongoing basis. You will co-ordinate the technical design with the onsite installation through to the successful commissioning ensuring that the Kirby Group vision, mission values are fulfilled. /p h3Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities /h3 pIn conjunction with your project team, you will be responsible for the execution of various stages of a project as follows: /p ul liColate all design documents and drawings /li liAttend project Handover Meetings /li liEvaluate value engineering or cost saving opportunities /li liPreparation of co-ordinated drawings covering all aspects of the installation including mechanical, electrical sprinkler, structural and architectural elements /li liReview and understand project design specifications and drawings and access compliance of co-ordinated drawings and technical submittals. /li liAssist in the production of weekly progress reports /li liAssist in the compilation and assessment of Technical Submittals. /li liProcessing requisitions, generation of purchase orders. /li liReceipt verification (RV) of equipment and materials arriving on site. /li liSeek to clarify queries with the design team through the request for information (RFI) system. /li liUnderstand the commercial fundamentals of a project including profit plans, potential variation logs and take offs’ etc /li liLiaise and co-ordinate with members of the design team, contractors and in-house project team on technical and commercial issues. /li liAttend technical meetings with members of the design team, contractors, and in-house project team /li liCarry out document control, recording transmitting information utilising File Key. /li liPrepare method statements and risk assessments for production activities /li liOrganise and assess the work of sub-contractors. /li liCarry out Quality Control through inspections and snagging including walking down of PID’s, and layout drawings. /li liPopulation of test packs and tracking of same /li /ul h3Necessary requirement of the Mechanical Engineer /h3 ul li3rd level qualification in Building Services Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or Senior Trades qualification or equivalent /li liSignificant Project engineering experience of 5 years+ with a mechanical contractor /li liPrevious record of delivering small to medium mechanical projects (Commercial, Industrial, pharma, data centre type projects) /li liCommercial Awareness /li liCapability of walking down mechanical systems to ensure compliance with specification /li liExperience developing technical submittals, completing technical reviews and assessments. /li liKnowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental systems and procedures – knowledge of the team, their strengths and weaknesses /li liThe ability to multi-task and manage many priorities /li liExcellent communicator/strong interpersonal skills/communicates with impact /li liExcellent record keeper and administration skills /li liLeads and influences others. /li liInnovates and leads in mechanical/technical activity and challenges. /li liPlans and effectively manages projects. /li liSolves problems analytically and acts decisively /li liIs process driven and focuses on EHS and Quality Work Management Systems and Processes /li liMentor and Coach to junior engineers and graduates /li /ul pKirby Group Engineering is an equal opportunities employer.
