EXPERT NEW INITIATIVES & PROGRAMS

As an Expert for New Initiatives & Programs, you will be part of the Global Natural Resources Directorate General . Specifically, within your Technical Activity for Agri Feedstock team , you will conduct feasibility studies and economic-financial analyses relating to Agri-Feedstock supply chains, contributing to potential analyses based on the country's agronomic characteristics, supply chain analyses, availability and quality of agro-industrial residues, production and market analyses (exports, imports), production and industrial processing costs, international logistics, regulatory framework, potential risks, and mitigation strategies.

Main activities:

• Carry out supply chain analyses, monitoring the availability and quality of agricultural production and agro-industrial and forestry residues, as well as the dynamics of international agricultural markets (import/export) and the related logistics and processing costs
• Scout for local counterparts and partners in key countries, facilitating the development of relationships for the launch of new industrial initiatives
• Identify new business opportunities in the countries of interest for the production of vegetable oil for biorefineries, with a focus on cultivation in degraded lands, intermediate crops and waste valorization
• Follow, in coordination with the relevant Eni functions, the evolution of the regulatory framework on biofuels in the European context, with particular reference to the RED and regulations relating to biofuels and global trends
• Collaborate in the preparation of reports and technical presentations to support management in prioritizing initiatives and making investment decisions.

 

Required characteristics:

 

 

• Master's degree in Economics, preferably in agri-food/energy, Agricultural Sciences, Management Engineering, or Territorial Sciences/Geography with a strong economic focus. Other qualifications may be considered based on significant experience in the role.
• At least 5 years of work experience
• Excellent command of the Office package (advanced Excel for economic modeling)
• Good knowledge of the English language
• Availability for national and international mobility

The profile is completed by:

 

 

• Familiarity with conducting feasibility studies and business development activities for agro-industrial projects, with a particular focus on the development of supply chains in the agricultural and agro-forestry sectors (preferably aimed at the energy sector) and/or analyses for biofuel projects in international and non-European contexts
• Previous experience (including internships) in consultancy firms, energy/agribusiness companies or international organisations on supply chain development projects will be considered an advantage.
• Experience in an international context
• Basic knowledge of geographic analysis systems (GIS) will be considered a plus
• Knowledge of the main sustainability certification standards (e.g. ISCC, 2BSvs) applicable to agricultural and industrial feedstocks will be considered a plus.
• Knowledge of the European Directives on renewable energy (e.g. RED II/III) and the related sustainability and traceability criteria for bioenergy supply chains
• Knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable
