Traffic Management & Control Configuration Engineer

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self‑motivated TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT & CONTROL CONFIGURATION ENGINEER who thrives in a fast‑paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Genoa (Italy). Accountabilities

• Ensure the configuration and production of the assigned portion of functional design documentation and project activities
• Contribute to the data configuration of the Specific and Generic Application
• Contribute to the testing session and error detection (including requirements traceability and verification)
• Contribute to management of requirements relative to the functional design (requirements traceability and verification)
• Guarantee adequate reference is made to industry standards in the deliverables (e.g. CENELEC, IPC)
• Contribute to the execution of the Verification activities on issued documents and project parts, according to the V&V Plan—whenever applicable—and/or to company guidelines and procedures
• Contribute to gap analysis between customer requirements and company products
• Contribute to functional design documentation including system requirements (requirements traceability) and architecture, interface control, scheme plans, control tables and analyses as appropriate

Deliver the configuration and production of the assigned part of functional Traffic Management System design for an automation project in accordance with industry and company standards.

• 1‑3 years of railway and/or automation working experience
• Knowledge of railway and/or metro automation systems
• Familiarity with automation and signalling system/sub‑system architecture
• Software techniques
• Database management
• Testing techniques
• RAM(S) (if applicable), CENELEC and quality knowledge may be a plus
• Planning and organization activities

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical area or equivalent technical background

• Good Italian proficiency
• Good English proficiency
