Join us. /p pAECOM’s Enterprise Capabilities is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Mechanical Engineering team in Milan, Italy. The position is suited for engineers with around 5 years of experience in HVAC and mechanical building services, with exposure to data centers or mission-critical facilities. /p pThe role focuses on the design and coordination of HVAC and cooling systems, supporting data center and critical infrastructure projects within multidisciplinary teams. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liSupport the design of HVAC and heat rejection systems for data centers and mission-critical environments, considering cooling loads, redundancy concepts, flexibility for phased expansion, airflow management, humidity control, and energy efficiency. /li liContribute to the selection and layout of cooling solutions such as CRAH/CRAC units, chilled water systems, DX systems, in-row cooling, fan wall units, and basic containment strategies, based on project requirements. /li liPerform cooling and heating load calculations using industry tools, under the supervision of senior engineers when required. /li liAssist in the design of chilled water plants, precision cooling systems, and mechanical ventilation systems, including preliminary equipment sizing and component selection. /li liPrepare and support the development of technical drawings, specifications, calculation notes, and reports in English. /li liDevelop HVAC schematics, basic system architectures, single-line control diagrams, and PIDs for mechanical systems. /li liSupport HVAC system modeling in Revit, coordinate with other disciplines, and assist with clash detection activities using Revit and/or Navisworks. /li liWork closely with electrical, architectural, and structural teams to ensure coordinated and integrated design solutions. /li liStay updated on data center cooling technologies, HVAC best practices, and applicable international standards. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. /li liApprox. 5 years of professional experience in HVAC and mechanical systems design for buildings, industrial, or critical facilities. /li liExposure to data center, mission-critical, or high-reliability HVAC systems. /li liFamiliarity with HVAC and mechanical ventilation system design, Chilled water systems and basic cooling plant, Thermal load calculations and equipment sizing and ASHRAE and general HVAC design standards. /li liWorking knowledge of design tools such as AutoCAD and/or mechanical calculation software. /li liWorking knowledge of Revit for HVAC modeling. /li liFamiliarity with data center design guidelines (e.g. Uptime Institute, TIA-942, ANSI/BICSI). /li liExposure to installation or commissioning phases of HVAC systems. /li liBasic understanding of control strategies and sequences of operation. /li liAwareness of energy efficiency and sustainability principles. /li liAbility to work in multidisciplinary project teams. /li liGood level of English, written and spoken. /li liAny relevant certifications (data center, energy, sustainability) are a plus but not required. /li /ul h3What We Offer /h3 h3AECOM: A World of Opportunities and Benefits /h3 h3Attractive Compensation Package /h3 pWe offer a competitive salary along with a range of exclusive benefits, including hybrid work, meal vouchers, welfare program, resources for personal well-being and mental health, gym memberships, health insurance, laptop, smartphone, employee assistance program, business travel insurance, service recognition awards, and a pension savings plan. /p h3Office in the Heart of Milan /h3 pCentral location, with easy access to all the city’s conveniences. /p h3Work Flexibility /h3 pWe offer flexible work options to help you maintain an optimal work-life balance. /p h3Public Transport Allowances /h3 pWe help cover the costs of your daily commute. /p h3Culture of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion inWelcoming Workplaces /h3 pOur culture promotes a welcoming and respectful work environment.
