Senior Logistics Operations Manager - Italy

ppWe are looking for a Senior Logistics Operations Manager to lead our Italian operations and drive performance, quality and profitability across Milan, Bologna and Rome. /p pYou will own the operational KPIs and service quality, lead multi-city teams (controllers, HR/people support and local operations staff), manage the PL and budget, and represent the company in weekly client meetings for key accounts. /p pThe ideal candidate has solid experience running logistics operations in Italy, is confident with numbers, and is very strong in Excel and data-driven decision-making. /p pKey responsibilitiesOperational performance quality /p ul liOwn the operational metrics (on-time performance, delivery success, quality, productivity, safety) across Milan, Bologna and Rome. /li liEnsure processes and SOPs are correctly implemented and followed at station/city level. /li liRun regular performance reviews with local teams and implement corrective action plans where needed. /li liEnsure consistent service quality across all cities, aligned with client SLAs.br/Team leadership organisation /li liLead and coach local teams, including controllers, HR/people support and city operations leads. /li liSet clear goals, monitor performance, and support the development of key team members. /li liFoster a culture of ownership, accountability and continuous improvement.br/Client relationship management /li liHold weekly operational meetings with key clients, presenting KPIs, root-cause analysis and action plans. /li liAct as main operational escalation point for Italian operations. /li liWork closely with clients on ramp-ups, peak planning and new initiatives.br/PL, budget financial control /li liOwn the operations PL for Italy: revenue, variable and fixed costs. /li liPrepare and manage budgets and forecasts together with the Country Manager and Finance Controller. /li liMonitor margins and unit costs; implement cost-optimisation initiatives without compromising quality. /li liEnsure accurate monthly reporting and explanation of variances vs budget/forecast.br/Cross-functional collaboration /li liWork closely with the Finance Controller on reporting, accruals, and financial analysis. /li liCoordinate with HR on workforce planning, hiring needs and people issues. /li liCollaborate with Fleet, IT and other support functions to ensure operations run smoothly.br/Data, reporting continuous improvement /li liUse Excel and data to analyse performance, identify trends and drive decisions. /li liBuild and maintain operational dashboards and standard reports. /li liLead continuous improvement projects to increase productivity, reduce waste and improve service.br/Requirements /li li5+ years’ experience in logistics operations in Italy (last-mile, parcel, e-commerce or similar). /li liProven experience managing PL and budgets for an operations function. /li liVery strong numerical skills and a data-driven mindset. /li liAdvanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, basic modelling, data analysis). /li liExperience leading multi-site or multi-city operations teams. /li liComfortable running client-facing meetings and presenting KPIs/action plans. /li liStrong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritise under pressure. /li liFluent English (spoken and written).
