With six distinctive restaurants and bars, including a rooftop Mandarin Bar with sweeping city views, the property will blend tranquil residential charm with contemporary Roman sophistication. /p h3About The Job /h3 pThe Director of Purchasing is responsible for leading the strategic and operational management of the hotel's procurement function. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the effective sourcing of goods and services, maintaining strong supplier partnerships, driving cost efficiencies and supporting the financial and operational success of Mandarin Oriental, Rome. /p ul liLead all purchasing operations, ensuring compliance, efficiency and exceptional service delivery across the hotel. /li liDevelop and implement procurement strategies that support operational requirements while maximising value and cost effectiveness. /li liBuild and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers and negotiate favourable commercial agreements, contracts and service levels. /li liEnsure competitive sourcing processes are implemented while maintaining Mandarin Oriental quality standards and specifications. /li liMonitor supplier performance, market conditions and industry trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and continuous improvement. /li liOversee inventory and stock control processes, ensuring optimal stock levels while minimising waste and loss. /li liEnsure all purchasing activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, internal controls and audit requirements. /li liPartner closely with Restaurants, Bars Experience, Rooms Division, Engineering and Finance teams to support business objectives and operational needs. /li liDrive the implementation and enhancement of purchasing systems, processes and controls to improve efficiency and effectiveness. /li liMonitor procurement expenditure and performance, providing regular reporting, analysis and recommendations to senior leadership. /li liLead, motivate and develop the Purchasing team through coaching, performance management, succession planning and career development initiatives. /li liSupport sustainability initiatives by identifying responsible sourcing opportunities and promoting environmentally conscious purchasing practices. /li liContribute to the successful opening and ongoing operation of one of Rome's most anticipated luxury hospitality destinations. /li /ul h3As Director Of Purchasing, We Expect From You /h3 ul liA minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain management within luxury hospitality or a related industry. /li liProven leadership experience managing procurement operations in a complex, fast‑paced environment. /li liStrong commercial and financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control, contract negotiation and supplier management. /li liDemonstrated ability to drive operational efficiencies, optimise processes and deliver measurable business results. /li liExcellent negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills. /li liStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and make informed business decisions. /li liExperience working with procurement systems, inventory controls and hotel purchasing best practices. /li liProven ability to develop high‑performing teams and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement. /li liExcellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organisation. /li liStrong command of written and spoken English and Italian. /li liHigh levels of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail. /li /ul h3Our Commitment To You /h3 ul liLearning Development.
