Graduate Automation Engineer Apprenticeship Program

Position Overview

We offer a unique apprenticeship opportunity to join our RME team. The program combines hands‑on work with a 300‑hour curriculum covering electric and electronic systems, automation and robotics, project management, and communication. Mentored by the Automation Engineer Team, you will develop technical, analytical and teamwork skills, and become eligible for a full Automation Engineer role upon completion.

Shift Pattern

This role includes non‑traditional shift patterns, which may include nights and weekends. Remote working is not offered.

Responsibilities

• Hands‑on monitoring, fault finding and repair of control systems and sensors.
• Training technicians on control systems fault finding to raise site knowledge.
• Working with the EU Controls network to monitor material handling equipment metrics and provide visualization to internal customers.
• Participating in or owning continuous improvement projects coordinated by the EU Controls network.
• Collaborating with IT, EU Controls Engineering and Operations Engineering to ensure systems are correctly documented and backup libraries are maintained.

Qualifications

• Between 18 and 29 years old.
• Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering (or will achieve it before start).
• Fluent in Italian with good written and verbal communication.
• English Level B2 or higher, both written and verbal.
• Ability to understand and follow technical instructions.
• Passionate about Automation and Engineering and eager to start a career.
• Motivated, proactive, practical approach.
• Commitment to learning, development and involvement.
• Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel).
• Team‑player, builds relationships easily.
• Experience in electrical engineering or related fields.
• Project management experience.
• Software developer experience.
