WHAT IT'S ABOUT
Build the Italian storage business from the ground up and own the commercial agenda end-to-end.
We are looking for a Director of Sales to lead the commercial agenda for battery storage in Italy. This is a hands-on role, not purely managerial. You set the playbook, close the deals and build the team.
THE COMPANY
Our client is a well-funded European scale-up and one of the market leaders in commercialising and optimising flexible energy systems. Its AI-powered trading and full-service offering support battery projects from technical design through to 24/7 operations. The company works with leading infrastructure investors and utilities across several European markets.
Italy is one of its fastest-moving markets. First major contracts are in active negotiation and the pipeline is growing quickly.
Located in Milan, office-first. Startup culture, short decision paths, big ambition.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, offer structuring, negotiation and contract signing
- Lead and develop the existing Italy Sales Manager and build out the sales team as the business grows
- Drive strategic planning, forecasting and commercial KPIs
- Act as a trusted advisor to strategic customers in a fast-evolving storage market
- Work closely with the Country Manager, Operations and the international commercial team
- Shape the offering in line with regulatory changes, market trends and customer feedback
- Represent the company at conferences and industry events across Italy
YOUR PROFILE
- 10+ years in energy sales, business development, project origination or key account management
- Proven track record closing complex energy contracts with developers, investors or utilities
- Strong understanding of storage revenue models: merchant, Capacity Market and MACSE, tolling and floor contracts
- Strong network among developers, investors and utilities in Italy
- Experience building and leading sales teams
- Fluent Italian and professional English
- You thrive with autonomy, take ownership of problems and are energised by building. If you are looking for a corporate structure, this is not the right fit.
