International Talent Program - Wholesale Banking

At the beginning of your traineeship you’ll rotate between different projects and departments within your track. After your rotations, you get to choose your long term position based on your experience and area of interest.

This is a comprehensive programme that provides talented graduates with the knowledge, skills and on-the-job experience to become ING’s future leaders. We offer you the chance to shape your own ideas about banking in a receptive environment.

The programme is truly international with over 100 trainees in 14 different countries. For each year of the programme there will be a global event designed as a bootcamp to develop your personal skill in the process.

Key responsibilities:

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Analyst to join our Capital Markets and Advisory Team that:

• has a deep interest in the evolution of the capital markets
• feels at ease with figures and financial analysis
• pays attention to details and is driven by a search for quality in his/her work
• is ready to face challenges and can go the extra mile when needed
• enjoys working in a team and contributing to the team results
• seeks to kickstart his/her career in an international, fast paced environment
• genuinely enjoys building long lasting relationships with clients and colleagues

What your first 6-month rotation will let you focus on

Your will be part of WB – CMA (Capital Markets and Advisory) – Debt Capital Markets and your goal will be to: supporting the origination and execution of debt capital market transactions (including public bonds, hybrid and subordinated bonds, liability management transactions, private placements and schuldschein) for both corporates and financial institutions. Engaging in analysis and discussions with syndicate and other capital markets functions and stakeholders to produce pricing updates and other presentation materials for clients. Being responsible for the orderly execution of capital market transactions including compliance with internal and external rules, regulations, policies and best practices.

You will have the opportunity to collaborate with different internal stakeholders and you will have high visibility to senior leadership.

Your first rotation will give you ample opportunity to expand your network both within ING and in the Italian capital market issuers landscape and practice your stakeholder management skills.

What about your second rotation

With these new experiences and contacts, you are in charge to arrange your second rotation. Now it comes down to addressing your network and taking the initiative, also for an international experience that could be relevant for your personal and professional development. 

Your second year

After two rotations, you now have a better understanding of which direction you would like to go and are ready to choose your third rotation. Are you broadening your knowledge within your track, or would you like to explore an area within another track? Both are an option for this rotation!

During your third rotation you will set the stage for your fixed position, in the Capital Markets and Advisory department, or in another position of your interest among the available opportunities within ING.

What we offer:

Global events. Access to yearly 2-3 weeks global events with other ING International Talent Programme talents from all around the world.

Job rotations. Insights in various business units during the first 18 months and work abroad into one of our ING countries for 3 - 6 months. (if circumstances allow)

International onboarding. Following your local onboarding introduction, you will fly to our headquarters in Amsterdam for a two week-long international onboarding event. (if circumstances allow)

Trainings & learning experiences in different business lines to boost your knowledge and skill set.

Mentoring. Experienced ING executives will support your personal and professional development through regular feedback and coaching.

What we’re looking for:

• You have a Bachelor/Master degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Engineering or Business Studies (Majors or Masters in Business Administration, Financial Markets or Banking will be considered a plus)
• Excellent analytical skills and problem solving
• You have an innovative take on banking and an unconditional drive to turn your ideas into reality
• You are enthusiastic and consider the interests of our customers and your colleagues
• You act with integrity and responsibility.
• You are fluent in English and Italian; foreign candidates have an advanced knowledge of Italian (at least B2)
• You have a maximum of 2 years of professional experience
