In this role, you will be responsible for soliciting, marketing, underwriting and servicing moderately complex risks for a book of business/assigned agents/brokers within the country. This includes underwriting new and existing surety accounts in conformance with underwriting guidelines to determine if they meet risk acceptability standards and/or the strategy of the organization, assisting in the review and analysis of risks that are small to medium in size and complexity, performing financial and credit analyses of bond submissions and making recommendations/taking action as appropriate. You are also accountable for developing and executing field marketing plan as directed and demonstrating Surety knowledge necessary to independently underwrite business /p h3Job responsibilities /h3 ul liMarkets, underwrites services moderately complex risks for a book of business, with supervision for more complex/higher risk accounts and cases. This may include 1-3 large complex/higher risk accounts but is weighted towards moderate/lower-risk accounts. Supports efforts to implement underwriting strategy. /li liDemonstrates comprehensive knowledge and solicits surety account submissions from assigned producer/customer base via marketing efforts. Independently effectively calls on all producers/customers to support marketing activities business plan development. /li liPerform analytical evaluations of financial statements on both a static and trend basis and complex credit analysis. Determines the present and historical financial position of the account and monitors financial position of risk through analysis of periodic statements and work in process data if appropriate /li liMonitors the quality of underwriting in assigned offices utilizing self-audit processes and/or other techniques. /li liEvaluates analyzes new surety obligations provide management with reporting, as assigned /li liTypically works independently and able to develop strategies to support producer/customer efforts to increase business activities submissions. Serves as the trusted advisor underwriting resource for producers, customers territory. /li liMeets production, marketing, and profitability goals as set by manager and assist in business development by soliciting business/submissions. Develop a book of business to broaden the portfolio with various accounts in compliance with Underwriting Guidelines and delegated authority /li liMay identify and elevate cross-selling opportunities to the appropriate internal product lines underwriters. /li liProvide direction for topics to be addressed in meetings with brokers, customers, and others, as necessary. /li liAttend industry events representing Liberty Mutual. /li liEnsures compliance with all applicable internal and external laws, regulations, policies, procedures and guidance. /li liAdhere to underwriting standards, instructions and best practice methodology in order to minimise risk as incorporated into the Underwriting framework. /li liSupport Surety Attorneys, Manager, and Sr. Underwriters on the preparation of new and revised indemnity documents and reinsurance slips. As directed, review and negotiate policy terms and conditions including assisting with the production of bond language and endorsements. /li liStay abreast of competitors and identify opportunities to maximize Liberty’s marketplace presence. /li liWorking closely with Surety claims department and all other key internal stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of underwriting services. /li liPerforms special projects and other duties as assigned. /li /ul h3Preparation, Training and Experience /h3 ul liDegree in Business or equivalent typically required. /li liSurety UW experience and/or other related experience. Proven analytical ability to evaluate and judge underwriting risks within scope of responsibility that includes competence with all phases aspects of the underwriting process. and proficiency in the use of qualitative quantitative tools techniques. /li liMust demonstrate comprehension of complex technical underwriting issues and be capable of defining and implementing necessary underwriting and administrative processes/ workflows to properly manage or administer those issues. /li liMature and self-confident; ability to face clients, business partners and senior colleagues. /li liExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with all stakeholders (brokers, clients, colleagues and other business partners), including the ability to communicate complex analysis and information in understandable written and/or oral directives to other persons and customers. /li liProven ability to develop strong relationships and market to external customers. Must be detail-oriented, able to manage time and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while working independently. /li liKnowledge of regulatory and legal requirements affecting Surety industry. /li liFluent in local language and proficient in English (verbal and written).
