The consultant will be supervised by the Senior Adviser, Statistics, Child Protection, Development and Disability within the Data and Analytics Section of the Office of Strategy and Evidence - Innocenti. /ppThe consultant will be responsible for supporting with the preparation and production of data-driven products and publications, designing and advancing methodological work, undertaking capacity-building efforts and outreach/dissemination initiatives, and providing technical assistance to countries. /ph3Specific Tasks /h3ulliData compilation, preparing draft charts/tables/maps and drafting accompanying key messages and technicalnotes, drafting short pieces of text, fact-checking, and proofreading/reviewing data-driven publications duringthe design/layout stage /liliDesign and support methodological work to develop, validate and launch new data collection tools /liliDesign and promote the adoption and uptake of statistical classifications /liliUndertake and facilitate capacity-building efforts, workshops and initiatives /liliProvide technical assistance to countries for the implementation of data activities and to ensure the effective useand interpretation of data to inform programming /li /ulpIf you would like to know more about this consultancy, please review the complete Terms of Reference here: bTMC ToR.pdf /b. /ph3To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have: /h3h3Minimum Requirements /h3ulliEducation: Masters’ Degree in Demography, public health, other social sciences field /liliWork Experience: /liulliAt least 10 years of experience working in the area of data, statistics and monitoring, preferably at the international level as well as in project management, preferably around data activities and initiatives. /liliDemonstrated previous experience with data compilation and analysis and preparation of data content for publications. /liliDemonstrated previous experience with designing and implementing testing and validation of data collection instruments. /li /ulliLanguage requirement: Fluency in English is required /liliSkills: /liliTechnical knowledge and expertise on data related to the topics of ECD and child protection. /liliStrong interpersonal and relationship-building skills in interacting with colleagues at all levels. /liliExcellent oral and written communication skills. /liliStrong organizational, planning, and analytical skills. /liliAbility to take ownership and initiative and can work both independently and effectively in a team environment. /li /ulh3Desirables: /h3pExposure to international professional contexts and/or multicultural environments within the United Nations System. /ph3For every Child, you demonstrate... /h3pUNICEF’s Core Values of Care, Respect, Integrity, Trust and Accountability and Sustainability (CRITAS) underpin everything we do and how we do it.
