Offshore Geotechnical Engineer

ppRINA is currently recruiting for a Offshore Geotechnical Engineer to join its office in Genoa, Rome, Milan - Italy within the Environmental and Engineering Geoscience Division. /p h3Mission /h3 pRINA is strengthening its offshore geotechnical engineering capability and is looking for an Offshore Geotechnical Engineer, registered as a protected category under Italian bLaw 68/99 /b, to support the development and delivery of offshore infrastructure projects. /p pThe role focuses on geotechnical design and site characterization for offshore foundations, subsea pipelines and marine structures, across concept selection, FEED and detailed design phases. /p pIt is suited to Engineers with offshore or marine geotechnical experience, comfortable working in multidisciplinary project teams and contributing as technical specialists. /p h3Key Accountabilities /h3 ul liAct as geotechnical specialist for offshore and marine infrastructure projects, supporting engineering decisions across all project phases /li liInterpret offshore site investigation data (CPTu, boreholes, laboratory testing, geophysical surveys) and define geotechnical design parameters /li liDesign and assess offshore foundation systems (e.g. piles, suction caissons, anchors, mudmats, gravity-based structures) /li liIdentify and evaluate key offshore geohazards such as seabed instability, liquefaction, scour and slope failure /li liSupport offshore geotechnical site investigation planning and technical review of acquisition activities when required /li liReview and validate geotechnical deliverables produced by third parties /li liPrepare technical reports, calculations and design documentation in line with international offshore standards /li liCollaborate with structural, marine, geophysical and environmental disciplines in multidisciplinary teams /li liOccasional travel linked to project requirements /li /ul h3Education /h3 pMaster’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering /p h3Qualifications /h3 ul liMaster’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or equivalent; PhD is a plus /li liat least 3 years of experience in geotechnical engineering with exposure to offshore or marine infrastructure projects /li liexperience in / knowledge of offshore geotechnical design and interpretation of site investigation data /liliGood understanding of marine soil behaviour under cyclic and long-term loading conditions /li liFamiliarity with offshore standards (e.g. DNV, ISO, API) /li liExperience with numerical modelling is considered an advantage /li /ul h3Competencies /h3 ul liWORKPLACE DYNAMICS - Resourcefulness in shaping progress and working efficiently. /li liFORESIGHT INSIGHT - Context awareness adopting a systemic perspective and informed decision making. /li liPERSONAL EMPOWERMENT - Ownership for life, work and results, striving to grow professionally and personally. /li liINTERPERSONAL INFLUENCE - Skills and strategies we use to interact effectively with others. /li liDOMAIN BUSINESS ACUMEN - Applying a scientific approach and critical thinking in operations and solution development within area of expertise. /li /ul h3Compensation Data /h3 pThe salary range and job grade for this position are defined based on objective, role-related criteria and responsibilities in accordance with bCCNL RINA /b (CNEL code I480). The gross annual salary range foreseen is between b€36000 and €48000 /b and will be finally defined on candidate’s professional experience, qualifications, competencies and overall alignment with the role. In addition, an annual variable compensation component is provided, based on both Company and individual performance objectives in accordance with the current policies and collective agreements.
