Developer/Agency Commercial Lead

Overview

In this role you will strengthen PayPal's presence in the Italian market by leading local engagement with developers and agencies, attending key e-commerce events, and representing PayPal to generate additional merchant opportunities. You will build and nurture relationships with SMB merchants and agencies, drive lead generation, and position PayPal as a preferred solution among merchant communities. You will identify opportunities, create referral activity, and connect agency-generated leads to the right owner. You will work cross-functionally to resolve barriers and measure impact, shaping PayPal's growth in Italy.

Responsabilità

• Manage a defined portfolio of local developer and agency relationships
• Execute referral, pipeline, and commercial-development plans
• Identify, qualify and route incremental merchant opportunities
• Explain PayPal value propositions and integration options in practical terms
• Coordinate with sales, partner and product teams to resolve barriers
• Track lead quality, conversion and incremental business contribution
• Share feedback on agency needs, merchant objections and market opportunities
• Collaborate internally to influence process quality and efficiency
• Acquire, manage, and expand relationships with SMB merchants

Requisiti fondamentali

• 5+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, sales, developer relations, or a similar commercial role in e-commerce, fintech, payments, SaaS, or technology
• Demonstrated ability to identify, qualify, and convert opportunities into measurable results
• Strong understanding of e-commerce payment flows, payment methods, checkout experiences, APIs, SDKs, plugins, and integrations
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Building productive relationships with agencies and ecosystem partners
• Strong communication and persuasion to convert conversations into opportunities
• Data-driven prioritization and result-oriented mindset
