Role Summary and Impact

WPP Media is seeking an Intern to join our Media Innovation & Transformation HUB, supporting initiatives across Business Transformation, Process & Data Automation, and AI. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop cross-functional skills in business, operations, data, media, and technology, directly contributing to improving internal processes and fostering more scalable, controlled, and innovative tools and workflows. Working closely with the Process and Data Automation Manager, you will gain practical experience in project management, process automation, and the pragmatic application of AI within a complex organizational environment.

Activities

• Support the analysis of internal processes, gathering information from various teams, and mapping existing workflows to identify manual, repetitive, or automatable activities. Contribute to the documentation of "as-is" and "to-be" processes and operational requirements for automation solutions.
• Assist in the operational management of automation initiatives, including planning, follow-up, activity monitoring, and preparing meeting notes and action lists. Support the creation, testing, and monitoring of simple automation tools, reporting solutions, or data control processes.
• Collaborate on data collection, cleaning, normalization, and quality control activities, helping to identify anomalies or inefficiencies. Support the management of files, databases, reports, and recurring data flows, preparing datasets for analysis, reporting, or automation.
• Contribute to identifying potential AI use cases for processes, data, and operational activities. Support controlled experimentation of AI tools for synthesis, classification, normalization, quality control, and operational support.
• Help prepare documentation, operating guides, templates, and enablement materials to promote effective and conscious use of automation and AI tools by internal teams.
• Work with internal teams, business stakeholders, and technical functions, contributing to the monitoring of KPIs and expected benefits of initiatives.

Requirements

• Good knowledge of Excel / Google Sheets and the Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint). Willingness to work with structured data, reports, and process documentation.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, with keen attention to data quality, information consistency, and identifying areas for improvement.
• Good written and spoken Italian and English, enabling effective interaction with internal teams and stakeholders, including in international context.

• High curiosity, strong willingness to learn, and a keen interest in technology, AI, and innovation applied to business processes.
• Analytical, structured, and problem-solving mindset, capable of understanding operational needs and translating them into clear, structured inputs.
• Strong attention to detail, essential for documentation, data control, testing, and process monitoring.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to explain information and concepts clearly, including to non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a team on cross-functional projects.
• Proactive, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks in parallel, respecting timelines and priorities.
• Pragmatic, execution-oriented, and continuous-improvement mindset, with a motivation to grow in a dynamic, innovative, and transformational environment.

Bonus Points:

• Basic knowledge of tools or languages such as Python, SQL, Power BI, Looker Studio, Tableau, Power Automate, App Script, or generative AI tools.
• Previous university, personal, or professional experience related to data, automation, AI, reporting, or process improvement
