Amazon Devices and Services FinTech is the global team that designs and builds the financial planning and analysis tools for a wide variety of Amazon’s new and established organisations. From Kindle to Ring and even new and exciting companies like Kuiper (our new interstellar satellite play) this team enjoys a wide variety of complex and interesting problem spaces. They are almost like FinTech consultants embedded in Amazon.
The ideal engineer for this space will be highly quantitative, have great judgment and passion to design and build a great customer experience, be inventive, and have a strong track record of delivery. You also have a pragmatic approach and iterative approach to building software: you have an ability to simplify and get things done with a demonstrated track record of building and delivering software and working effectively with external and internal teams.
As a Software Development Engineer, you will:
Produce bullet‑proof code that is robust, efficient and maintainable; our primary languages are Java and Python.
Lead team(s) of highly performing individuals in the design of flexible and scalable solutions, and day‑to‑day operations.
Think big, bringing fresh ideas and interactions that make device services development easy and intuitive.
You take a long‑term view of architecture, proactively fixing deficiencies and/or proposing larger projects.
Your code submissions and approach to work are exemplary. You write software that is easy for others to contribute to.
Operational Excellence, Security, Quality, etc.) Very fast and independent in resolving technical issues, understanding design/code and elegant coder.
Independently design distributed software using object‑oriented approach/technologies.
Ability to find bottlenecks in existing code/design and come up with solution to address it.
3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience

• 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 3+ years of Video Games Industry (supporting title Development, Release, or Live Ops) experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
~ Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
