Ravenna Middle School has approximately 300 students in Grades 5-8. Ravenna is an outstanding community known for its small-town charm and close-knit relationships. QUALIFICATIONS and DUTIES

Valid Michigan School Administrator Certification Must hold a Michigan School Administrator Certificate (or Permit with enrollment in an approved Administrator Preparation program within six months)

Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or Administration Master’s in Educational Administration, Leadership, or a closely related field

Successful Teaching Experience (3–5 years) Evidence of effective teaching practice at the middle or secondary level is generally required

Instructional Leadership & Curriculum Oversight Experience leading curriculum development, implementing instructional initiatives, and using data to improve learning outcomes

Staff Supervision and Performance Evaluation Proven ability to supervise, mentor, evaluate, and support certified and support staff

School Safety & Student Discipline Management Skilled in creating safe environments, implementing discipline plans, restorative practices, and supervising student conduct

Data-Driven Decision-Making & School Improvement Ability to monitor student performance, assess programming effectiveness, and support continuous improvement processes

Budgeting, Scheduling, and School Operations Competence in managing building budgets, developing master schedules, overseeing facilities, and ensuring smooth daily operations

Community, Family, and Stakeholder Engagement Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with parents, community members, and district staff to build partnerships

Compliance with Policies, Laws, and Accreditation Standards Knowledge of Michigan and federal education laws, accreditation requirements, state reporting (e.g., M-STEP, accountability), and implementation of board policies

Salary/Benefits

- Commensurate with education and experience, $90,000-$105,000.
