Business Development Coordinator We're hiring!
You have an aptitude for technical communication and proposal writing. You understand proposal writing as well as graphic design and formatting in a global context. You are ready to dive deep into competitor analysis and think strategically. Needed by our BD team is a driven, quick individual who can curate our proposal, presentation, and qualification resources, working closely with our Business Development team – the face of the company.
As a Business Development Coordinator, you will act as a versatile assistant to our sales and estimating group. You will assist with proposal/RFP chases of world-class structures across North America and abroad, working with some of the best designers in the industry. You will be responsible for new presentations, technical engineering and construction proposals, qualifications submittals, and proposal database management.
You will report to the Manager of Business Development & Preconstruction, working closely with our whole BD and Marketing team.
StructureCraft combines creative, pioneering structural engineering with the old-world idea of a “master-builder”, bringing a single source of responsibility for the design and construction of a building’s structure.

As a firm of master engineers and timber construction experts with offices in Canada, the United States, and Italy, we partner with world-renowned developers, owners and architects, often as the Structural Engineer of Record, to create buildings that are elegant in their own right, sustainable, and also serve the greater good of a community.
Curate and organize new project proposals, qualifications packages (RFQ/RFP), client presentations/PowerPoints and project/services writeup. We use the full Adobe suite extensively, including InDesign, Photoshop, etc; as well as the MS suite (Word, Excel, PPT). Technical writing experience is a must; our proposals often shift between short, quals-based documents and long-form, project-specific writeups tailored to site challenges, design team relationships, etc. Assist Marketing with the development of new qualifications materials / literature as needed for proposal responses.
Assist BD team with upkeep of Hubspot CRM, including new client entries, deals, data management.
Manage bidding / lead generation software (e.g. Dodge) including monitoring / researching new opportunities and summarizing progress with measurable outcomes.Run BD/market research projects including tracking construction/market data and exploring new market opportunities.
Depending on aptitude and level of interest, you will have opportunity to participate in additional business development activities, including fielding incoming client calls, estimating, etc.
Motivation to take responsibility of tasks and find ways to organize and innovate within our proposal, qualification, and technical writing space.
Particularity for technical writing, including a penchant for “getting it right” in grammar structure, proposal organization and quality of content.
Passion for architecture, engineering, & design, and being part of a collaborative, tight-knit team in a fun and intensely creative environment.
Take ownership and accountability for project/task(s) start to finish.
Post-secondary education in Marketing, Business, or related field
Experience in writing, business development or sales (agency or in-house); Experience in digital, email, and social media marketing preferred
High sense of urgency, attention to detail, proactiveness and comfortability working with senior management
Strong skills in Adobe suite, especially Photoshop and InDesign
Strong skills in Microsoft Office/Office 365
Strong verbal and written communication in English, with attention to detail and ability to phrase broad ideas concisely
Available to work in office with option for hybrid
