Thanks to our diversity of skills, talents and cultures, our customers (governments, institutions, space agencies, telecommunications operators), therefore have Space to Connect, Secure & Defend, Observe & Protect, Explore, Travel & Navigate.The End-to-End Navigation System department of Thales Alenia Space in Italy is looking for a Navigation System Engineer that, **reporting directly to the Head of Department**, can:* support the execution of these exciting programs (GALILEO, Moonlight, LEO PNTIod, etc.);* LifeI as a Thales system engineer role**As a System Engineering Role within Thales, you will:* Analyze and understand customer needs through advanced studies, simulations, mock-ups, models, prototypes, …* Formalize specifications and architecture used to propose the best solution / product to your clients* Prepare and carry out integration, verification and validation tests* Define test plans and procedures for system level testing* Ensure the technical integration and coherence of the system design, interfaces, and performances.* Design the architecture of the command and control system* Demonstrate the solution to the customerMoreove, you will:* Contribute to the growth of the engineering department activities (e.g. acquisition of new contract, definition of the strategy for the evolution of the competences of the department, etc.)* Contribute to the R&D activities through the proposal and execution of new studies* Support the interaction with the University, through the definition and the follow-up of thesis, stage, etc.* Have the opportunity to participate to international meetings and conference held worldwide**Language:** fluent English, spoken and written**Competencies**:* A master’s degree in electronic, telecommunications, computer science, aerospace engineering or equivalent;* Knowledge about basic telecommunication principles (propagation error, access schema, modulations, etc.);* Familiarity with the usage of System Engineering Tools (e.g. MBSE Tools, Requirement Management Tools, Simulation Tools, Matlab, etc.);* Experience with leading engineering projects or activities;* Capability to adapt and react to change;* With Thales Alenia Space employing around 8,900 employees in 10 countries with 17 sites in Europe and a plant in the US, our mobility policy enables employees each year to develop their careers at home and abroad.
