Protein Biochemistry Function in Bacterial Vaccines R&D Italy and Global Quality organization

We are looking for a:

An Associate Scientist in the Biochemistry Function Mass Spectrometry & Protein Structure Lab, Bacterial Vaccines Research, Italy

The Biochemistry Function operates in the GSK Research Bacterial Vaccines Scientific Area focusing on the identification, design and characterization of vaccine antigens and monoclonal antibodies.

The Associate Scientist will support in the Biochemistry Function a GSK Global Quality organization project aiming to identify epitopes recognized by a panel of monoclonal antibodies through structural mass spectrometry.

In this role YOU will..

Collaborate in the conception, design, implementation, and interpretation of experiments related to epitope mapping using structural mass spectrometry.
Ensure timely data collection and interpretation in area of responsibility.
Report and communicate to Global Quality organization the progress of the project through internal technical documents and presentations.
Ensure implementation of highest ethical standards, good scientific practices & data integrity in daily research activities
Follow established Health, Safety and the Environment policies.
Actively participate in training, hazard identification and other HS&E programs.

Why YOU?

Basic Qualifications:

MSc/BSc plus at least some experience in the biochemistry field
Experience in protein purification and biophysical analysis
Experience in protein mass spectrometry and structural biology ideally including proteomics and/or HDX-MS.
Good knowledge in computational methods and bioinformatics
Track-record of scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals, scientific presentations at conferences
Fluency in English, spoken and written.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred PhD degree in Life Sciences or Chemistry
Ability to understand, interpret, and clearly communicate scientific data
Demonstrated agility and ability to learn new methods and ways of working to thrive in a rapidly evolving industry
Have good team player capacity to interact with colleagues from a multifunctional environment, operating in a complex matrix organization.
