Project Developer Specialist

We are X-ELIO , a Brookfield-owned company and a global leader in the renewable energy sector. With over 3 GW of renewable projects (solar/BESS) built, we currently operate in 12 countries and have a development pipeline of 12 GW of solar and 14 GW of BESS capacity.
Reporting to: Sr Project Development Manager
Based in: Roma, Italy
The selected professional will oversee end-to-end solar project development, ensuring regulatory compliance, stakeholder coordination, budget adherence, and timely transition to Ready-to-Build status.
What will you do?
- Oversee all stages of solar project development, from land acquisition and permits to Ready-to-Build status, ensuring compliance with regulations and timelines.
- Maintain strong relationships with local authorities, suppliers, consultants, and internal departments to secure smooth project execution and timely payments.
- Optimize project layouts and coordinate closely with technical teams, ensuring cost-effective designs and production efficiency.
- Prepare, review, and lead applications for environmental and building permits, manage RFPs, and negotiate contracts for land, services, and interconnections.
- Monitor budgets, subcontractor performance, project schedules, and regulatory changes, providing regular status updates to stakeholders and ensuring adherence to company policies.
What do we need?
- 3-5 years of experience in power/renewable energy development, with knowledge of PV sector regulations and market policies.
- Degree in Engineering, Law, or Economics, with fluency in English and prior experience in the renewable energy industry.
- Apply critical thinking, decision-making, negotiation, and persuasion to effectively address problems and reconcile differences.
- Manage time efficiently for self and team, ensuring tasks are completed within deadlines.
- Utilize deductive and inductive reasoning to identify relationships and derive meaningful conclusions from diverse information.
- Strong communication skills in English and Italian.
