YOUR TEAM


You will join the iCub Tech facility, the operational heart where world-class engineers in mechanics, electronics, and software collaborate to build the future of humanoid robotics (such as iCub, R1, and ergoCub).


In this pivotal role, you will act as the strategic link between our internal engineering teams, external suppliers, and IIT's central administrative offices. You will serve as the reference point for procurement and logistics not only for iCub Tech but also for the research units within the iCub ecosystem (e.g., HSP, EDPR).


Your mission will be to ensure the smooth operation of our facility by managing the procurement flow of complex mechanical and electronic components, coordinating shipping logistics for our robots attending international events and trade fairs, and supervising the administrative support staff assigned to the facility.


Safety is paramount in our labs: you will also interface with the Health & Safety (H&S) department to ensure compliance with safety protocols for machinery and robotics usage.


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience in Procurement & Logistics . You have a solid track record in managing purchasing flows (from scouting to order delivery) and logistics, preferably in a technical or industrial environment.
• Supplier Management Skills . You are capable of negotiating with suppliers, managing offers, and proactively scouting for new "buy-maker" partners to optimize costs and quality.
• Organizational Leadership . You have experience in coordinating and supervising administrative staff, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in administrative processes.
• Communication & Networking . You can effectively liaise with internal design teams and IIT's central procurement offices to ensure orders are managed correctly and on time.
• Logistics Expertise . You are ready to handle the complex logistics of transporting delicate humanoid robots and instrumentation for events, demonstrations, and fairs worldwide.
• Problem-solving Mindset . You can handle tight deadlines and unexpected logistical challenges with a proactive approach.
• English Proficiency . Ability to read technical documentation and communicate fluently in an international environment.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

• Technical Background . A degree or diploma in a technical field (Mechanical/Electronic) is highly desirable. This background will be a key asset in understanding the specific needs of our design team and evaluating technical offers from suppliers.
• ERP Knowledge . Experience with SAP or similar management software.
• Import/Export Regulations . Knowledge of customs procedures for international shipping of technological equipment.
• Safety & Prevention (ASPP) . Willingness to undergo training to become an ASPP (Addetto al Servizio di Prevenzione e Protezione). You would play a crucial role in coordinating safety activities with the central H&S office, managing protocols for the correct use of machinery, robots and other safety issues.
• Special Waste Management Officer . In coordination with the H&S office, you will play a key role in gathering information on the management of special waste produced by the Facility and the associated Research Unites.
