Engineering & Production Director / Manufacturing Assembly Director Do you enjoy leading and motivating a technical team whilst also playing a hands-on role shaping and driving the business? This global leader is searching for a well-rounded Engineering Director with the prospects to become the local MD within 1-2 years. A global manufacturer that has witnessed significant growth across key markets. In line with their expansion, they wish to recruit an Engineering Director to oversee the engineering and production departments. Recognised for offering well-engineered factory automation systems, they pride themselves on their detailed attention to customers' needs and dedication to the highest standards of performance and quality. As the most senior technical professional on the site, you will be responsible for: Analysing the current engineering and production function to understand areas for improvement. Occasional travel within Italy or to my clients European HQ. Strategic and operational management of all engineering activities across design, development and integration. Managing a team of up to 30 staff (direct and indirect) across engineering and production which includes mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, automation and software. Building a team of driven and capable engineers and leaders. Supporting the setting of the annual budget and goals. Introducing new SOPs to help streamline and standardise current processes. Ensuring the business achieves its commitment to customers in relation to quality and delivery timescales. The successful leader will be strategic, but also comfortable operating in a hands-on role with proven success leading an engineering & production/assembly team. Experience gained as an engineer prior to your leadership career would be highly advantageous, as would an engineering education. It's essential you possess a mix of technical knowledge and commercial understanding gained in the factory / industrial automation sector, coupled with the ability to impact and drive a culture change in a business.
