Engineer I, Maintenance

Overview

In this role you ensure equipment runs at peak reliability by implementing preventive maintenance programs and managing spares and upgrades. You will lead maintenance activities, train technicians, and drive initiatives to maximize machine uptime and OEE. Based in Goa, you collaborate with cross-functional teams to reduce downtime, control costs, and maintain safety and 5S standards. Your work supports continuous improvement through RCAs, FMEAs, and focused improvements. This is a hands-on leadership role shaping the efficiency of a fiber optics manufacturing environment.

Responsabilità

• Implement and execute preventive maintenance program
• Review and optimize spare parts program
• Provide engineering support to close breakdowns and maximize machine uptime
• Lead focused improvements to improve MTBF and MTTR
• Train technicians to enhance skills and knowledge
• Conduct RCAs/FMEAs to identify system gaps and provide fixes
• Control and reduce maintenance costs
• Adhere to KPIs and maintenance dashboards; ensure statutory compliance
• Mechanize maintenance activities and install/commission new equipment
• Develop SPMs to boost operational efficiency and reduce maintenance activities
• Maintain safety norms and 5S standards; maximize OEE
• Handle equipment upgradation projects and align with installation standards
• Collaborate with vendors for design, drawings, and service/spares
• Utilize data tools to support decision making and reporting

Requisiti fondamentali

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Electronics /Electrical/ Industrial Engineering with relevant experience
• 6-8 years (degree) or 10-12 years (diploma) of experience
• Preferably 5 years in fiber optics connector manufacturing
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Proficient in SAP Maintenance Module; SolidWorks/AUTOCAD beneficial
• Knowledge of CBM tools, MTBF/MTTR, RCA, FMEA, Pareto charts
• Experience with installation, commissioning, and equipment upgrades
• Shift flexibility and ability to work in a manufacturing setting
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical installation standards
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
