ph3Junior Software Engineer (Data Processing) /h3 pALTEC is involved in several Science and Technological Programs in the aerospace domain where data systems are represented by software components that together with infrastructure and communication system constitute the ground segment of a space mission. Data systems are essential as are they represent reliable and efficient performant software that is needed to provide ground segment services and execute mission operations. /p pThe Data Processing System and Scientific and Technological Application group hosts the engineers, physicists and mathematicians who oversee the space mission data systems from definition to end of operations; it develops and maintains the data systems aimed at mission support and the execution of science operations on ground; it archives and manages their data during operations and beyond. Moreover, it is involved in the post-mission data exploitation in order to develop applications aimed at maximizing the scientific and technological return of value devoted to maximize the information value extracted from such data. /p h3Duties /h3 pYou will be part of the team that is in charge of all engineering aspects of the development, implementation and maintenance of software data processing systems under the ALTEC responsibility. /p pYou will work in close collaboration with the data engineers, data scientists, mission operators and infrastructure engineer during project phases. /p pYou will be in charge of software component design, coding, testing and documentation. /p pAmong the main duties, you will be involved in: /p ul liUnderstanding of software requirements. /li liAnalysis, revision and definition of software design. /li liDefining and implementing software unit and integration tests. /li liPreparing system related documentation (SW Design, Technical Notes, User Manuals, SW Test Procedures and SW Test Reports, SW Release Note). /li liPerforming software troubleshooting and bug fixing. /li liParticipate to periodic technical meetings. /li /ul h3REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TECHNICAL SKILLS /h3 ul liA MSc or equivalent degree in software or computer engineering with high score. /li liKnowledge of software engineering techniques for requirement gathering and analysis, design, software testing, documentation and quality assessment. /li liKnowledge and ability to use UML in the software engineering process. /li liKnowledge of object-oriented and functional programming with coding experience in Java and Python. /li liKnowledge of traditional (client-server) and modern software architecture (microservices) and ability to design, implement and integrate distributed software. /li liKnowledge and ability to use message queues to manage data flows and asynchronous data exchange. /li liAbility to develop microservices using frameworks like SpringBoot and NodeJS. /li liKnowledge of database relations and SQL language. /li liKnowledge of the following development tools: Gitlab, Maven and Nexus. /li liKnowledge of continuous integration tools such as Gitlab CI, Jenkins or Hudson. /li liKnowledge of the Linux operating system and scripting languages. /li liAbility to use debugging tools, perform troubleshooting and profiling an application running in a distributed environment. /li /ul h3SOFT SKILLS /h3 ul liProblem Solving /li liResult oriented /li liOperational efficiency /li liFostering Cooperation /li liRelationship Management /li /ul h3ADDITIONAL ASSETS (not mandatory, considered as a plus) /h3 ul liKnowledge of container technology (e.g. Docker, Podman) included orchestration aspects (e.g. Kubernetes, docker swarm). /li liKnowledge of one NoSQL database (e.g.: Elasticsearch, MongoDB). /li liKnowledge of XML and JSON data interchange formats for metadata description. /li /ul pbThe research is aimed at both genders. /b /p pbSalary range offered based on skills/experience in line with the profile sought: €30,000 – €35,000 /b /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
