Sr. Director EMEA Power Product Management
Vertiv
ph3Job Description /h3 pThe Sr. Director, EMEA Power Product Management owns the regional product portfolio strategy for the Power Business Unit across eight product lines: Large Converter (including Large UPS); Low Medium Voltage; Energy Storage, BESS Microgrid; Switchgear (Low Medium Voltage); Medium Converter (Medium UPS and DC Power for Telco and Data Centre); Power Software Controls (EPMS); Power Switching Distribution (STS, RPP, PDU); and Busbars (indoor outdoor). /p pThis role is the region's primary interface with the Global Business Units (GBUs) responsible for global product platform development, and is accountable for converting EMEA market requirements, including the rapid scale-up of AI Factory, hyperscale and colocation infrastructure, into funded global roadmap commitments. The Sr. Director builds and leads the regional Product Line Manager team, sets the operating standards that team works to, and ensures the portfolio is positioned, priced and ready to sell ahead of customer demand. /p pThe role carries an EMEA-wide remit across a Power product portfolio of approximately $1 billion, with a mandate to double the business within three years. /p pThis is a strategic leadership role rather than a steady-state portfolio administration function. The Power BU is moving from a historically single-digit organic growth trajectory to a 30–40% growth mandate, driven by the pace and scale of AI Factory and hyperscale infrastructure build-out. The Sr. Director is expected to operate as a credible strategic partner to global RD and GBU leadership, shaping how the portfolio evolves rather than simply administering what it receives and to hold product quality and lead-time competitiveness as headline measures of how well that portfolio performs in market. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 h3Strategic Leadership Growth Mandate /h3 ul liLead the shift from a historically reactive, single-digit-growth regional operating model to a proactive model capable of supporting 30–40% portfolio growth, driven by hyperscale and AI Factory demand. /li liOperate as a credible strategic partner to global RD and GBU leadership, with the gravitas to influence platform investment decisions and to make the commercial case for regional requirements in a fast-moving, high-growth market. /li liChampion a portfolio mindset across the region that treats product quality, lead time and availability as competitive differentiators, not just operational metrics — and holds the Product Line Manager team accountable accordingly. /li /ul h3Business Direction Portfolio Strategy /h3 ul liDefine the EMEA Power product vision and multi-year portfolio strategy in partnership with the EMEA Power BU leadership team; translate it into actionable plans for each product line. /li liBuild and lead a team of Product Line Managers, each accountable for the regional roadmap, lifecycle and commercial performance of their assigned product line. /li liContinuously map evolving requirements across hyperscale, colocation, NEO Cloud and enterprise segments, grid interconnection standards, thermal load profiles, regional compliance — into product and platform requirements. /li liTranslate AI-driven load volatility and evolving grid-connection requirements into BESS, UPS and power-conversion platform requirements — positioning energy storage as a grid-connection enabler, not only an optimisation layer. /li liAnticipate and shape the portfolio for emerging power architectures — higher-voltage DC distribution (e.g., 800VDC), rack-level power delivery, sidecar energy storage ensuring EMEA requirements are represented in GBU platform planning early. /li /ul h3Global Business Unit Interface Roadmap Influence /h3 ul liServe as the region's primary voice within global product steering forums; represent EMEA market requirements with the data and urgency needed to secure GBU prioritization and funding. /li liIdentify critical customer feature and capacity gaps at the earliest design stage and drive their inclusion in global RD pipelines, ahead of the point where deployment timelines compress and changes become costly. /li liHold GBUs accountable for delivery against agreed regional commitments; elevate and help resolve roadmap conflicts where regional and global priorities diverge. /li /ul h3Product Lifecycle Commercialization /h3 ul liOwn end-to-end product lifecycle management, phase-in through phase-out, across all eight product lines, including regional adaptations and configurations. /li liLead cross-functional product introduction programs, ensuring Technical Sales and Presales Application Engineering teams have documentation, certifications, training and collateral ready ahead of formal product launches. /li liDefine EMEA marketing positioning and outbound content for the Power portfolio in collaboration with marketing. /li /ul h3Operational Strategy: Supply Chain, Manufacturing Footprint, Quality Lead Time /h3 ul liShape the regional supply-chain and manufacturing-footprint strategy for the Power portfolio with operations and supply chain, influencing where and how products are sourced and built to secure capacity, resilience and competitive lead times as volumes scale toward doubling. /li liDrive structural lead-time improvement as a strategic priority, addressing root causes in sourcing, component availability, manufacturing capacity and design with the GBUs and operations, not merely tracking lead-time metrics. /li liOwn product quality and field performance across the portfolio in partnership with engineering and operations; embed quality gates into the NPI process and drive root‑cause resolution on recurring quality escalations. /li liChampion product safety as a non‑negotiable design parameter, ensuring the portfolio meets electrical safety standards and certifications, and that product‑safety and field‑safety incidents are surfaced and resolved with the GBUs through the NPI quality gates. /li liOversee, review and approve engineer-to-order (ETO) and configure-to-order (CTO) processes for product lines that require them, ensuring configurations remain deliverable within committed lead times. /li /ul h3Financial Performance /h3 ul liAccountable for the full Power product offering PL and market share gains across the region, alongside AOP, Price Gain Target Plan, inventory and ITO performance. /li liOwn order intake performance for newly commercialized product variants, tracking the return on regionally‑driven roadmap investment. /li liReview backlog and pipeline by product line; align with SIOP planning; identify risk to the sales plan and opportunities for book-and-ship. /li /ul h3Pricing Commercial Policy /h3 ul liDevelop and implement regional pricing policies that balance competitiveness with margin and Price Gain targets. /li liApprove special discount requests within delegated authority; guide the Product Line Manager team in executing pricing strategy and monitoring competitive trends. /li liLead competitive intelligence and win/loss analysis across product lines to inform pricing, positioning and roadmap priorities. /li /ul h3Market Intelligence Voice of Customer /h3 ul liGather and synthesize regional Voice of Customer across product technologies and segments; channel it into GBU product planning. /li liDefine target market segments and country‑level analysis across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. /li liDefine go‑to‑market approach (direct vs. indirect) by product line and identify channel optimization opportunities. /li liMaintain a forward radar on EMEA regulatory and market‑structure shifts, grid codes (ramp‑rate, power‑factor, inertia), the EU Energy Efficiency Directive and data‑centre energy‑reporting regime, and efficiency and embodied‑carbon requirements now entering customer tenders and translate them into platform requirements and roadmap priorities ahead of competitors. /li /ul h3AI‑Enabled Decision‑Making Productivity /h3 ul liChampion AI adoption across the Product Line Manager team, embedding AI into market and competitive analysis, trend detection, portfolio analytics and business‑case development to sharpen decisions and compress time‑to‑insight. /li liSet the standard for using AI to accelerate roadmap and pricing decisions and shorten time‑to‑market, within Vertiv's data‑security and governance guidelines. /li /ul h3Team Leadership Operating Standards /h3 ul liEstablish and enforce consistent product management operating standards across the Product Line Manager team, covering portfolio and lifecycle management, pricing and profitability, competitive intelligence, market segmentation, customer engagement and partner training, and business planning and forecasting. /li liSize and structure supporting roles (product specialists, business analysts) by product line, based on complexity, revenue and roadmap intensity. /li liOwn day‑to‑day people management: performance management, capability development and team engagement. /li /ul h3Key Relationships /h3 ul liEMEA Power Business Unit Leader (reporting line): joint ownership of regional Power strategy and growth targets. /li liGlobal Business Units: primary regional counterpart for platform development, roadmap prioritization and funding decisions across all eight product lines. /li liSr. Director, EMEA Power Technical Sales: provides portfolio strategy, roadmap visibility and product positioning that informs the commercial value architecture Technical Sales builds with hyperscale and colocation clients. /li liSr. Director, EMEA Presales Application Engineering: aligns on product specifications and configuration parameters that feed technical validation, SLD standards and design templates. /li liPower System Lead (Senior Solution Architect, Critical Power Distribution): partners on deep technical specification and system architecture for the critical power distribution lines (LV/MV, Switchgear, Converters), ensuring platform requirements fed to the GBUs reflect validated system‑level design realities. /li liRegional President Industry Vertical Leads: align portfolio priorities with broader regional commercial strategy and vertical‑specific demand (hyperscale, colocation, NEO Cloud, enterprise). /li liRegional Sales, Marketing, Operations and Finance leads: joint accountability for regional revenue, margin, inventory and market share targets. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 h3Essential /h3 ul liBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or a related field. /li liAt least 12–15 years of product management or product marketing leadership experience in power, electrical infrastructure or critical infrastructure markets, with increasing managerial responsibility. /li liTechnical fluency across critical power distribution (MV/LV), UPS, busbar systems, switchgear, energy storage/BESS and power software controls (EPMS) — sufficient to engage credibly with GBU engineering leadership and customer technical stakeholders. /li liProven track record negotiating roadmap priorities and securing investment from centralized or global product organizations. /li liStrong financial and commercial acumen: experience with AOP, pricing strategy, inventory management and margin optimization. /li liAnalytical and systems thinker, able to translate market and competitive shifts into portfolio decisions. /li liGlobal savvy executive with strong communication and relationship‑building skills across countries, cultures and organizational layers. /li liHigh energy and resilient, comfortable operating in a high‑growth, fast‑changing market environment. /li /ul h3Desirable /h3 ul liMBA. /li liDirect experience with hyperscale or large‑scale data centre infrastructure. /li liExperience driving operational performance metrics — quality, lead time, product availability — in a manufacturing or engineer‑to‑order product environment. /li liExperience shaping supply‑chain and manufacturing‑footprint strategy in support of growth and lead‑time goals. /li liFamiliarity with EMEA energy and efficiency regulation (e.g., EU Energy Efficiency Directive, data‑centre energy‑reporting requirements). /li liExperience steering a product portfolio through a major scale‑up or transformation. /li liDemonstrated use of AI tools to improve analysis, decision‑making or time‑to‑market. /li /ul h3Key Performance Indicators /h3 h3Role /h3 pThis role owns the full PL and market performance of the Power product portfolio. Product quality and lead time are called out as headline indicators, alongside the established financial OKRs, because they are the clearest external signal of how well the portfolio is performing in market: /p ul liProduct Quality — field performance / defect rate and NPI quality‑gate pass rate across the portfolio /li liProduct Lead Time Availability — competitive lead time performance by product line versus market benchmark /li liFull Offering PL Market Share — regional PL performance and market share gains across the eight product lines /li liAOP Sales Plan Execution /li liPrice Gain Target Plan (OKR) /li liInventory / ITO (OKR) /li liGBU Pipeline Ingestion Rate — % of regionally‑initiated product/feature requirements accepted and funded into the global roadmap /li liTime‑to‑Market Reduction — cycle time from identifying a regional gap to delivering a certified, sellable product or variant /li liEarly‑Stage Revenue Capture — order intake tied to newly commercialized product variants within their first 12 months /li /ul pThis role may be performed in multiple jurisdictions. In jurisdictions subject to EU Pay Transparency requirements, a locally applicable salary range applies and will be communicated in accordance with local legal obligations, if not shown in this posting. Salary ranges for other jurisdictions may vary in line with local market conditions and applicable legislation. /p h3About The Team /h3 h3Equal Opportunity Employer /h3 pWe promote equal opportunities for all with respect to hiring, terms of employment, mobility, training, compensation, and occupational health, without discrimination as to age, race, color, religion, creed, sex, pregnancy status (including childbirth, breastfeeding, or related medical conditions), marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity / expression (including transgender status or sexual stereotypes), genetic information, citizenship status, national origin, protected veteran status, political affiliation, or disability. /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
