Research Engineer (Trustworthy AI)

Envision and shape end-to-end AI solutions at Agorai by combining language understanding and structured knowledge. You will work closely with the AI Architect and Head of Technology to define use cases, guide technical direction, and deploy production-grade NLP systems. You will design trustworthy, auditable AI that performs in regulated contexts and surface failure modes before production. This role blends research with practical system building and stakeholder collaboration to deliver impact on industrial data and real-world problems.Retribuzione / Benefits

• Own the research-to-production arc for language understanding and knowledge-grounded AI, from literature review to deployment and monitoring
• Design AI systems that are explainable, auditable, and trustworthy in regulated contexts, choosing simpler approaches when appropriate
• Build production-quality services around models: APIs, inference pipelines, evaluation harnesses
• Create evaluation frameworks that test for failure modes, edge cases, and distribution shift
• Work on information extraction, semantic understanding, and structured knowledge grounded in industrial data
• Stay current with research in language models, interpretability, and trustworthy AI
• Contribute to technical standards and code quality across the team
• Tackle a hard, open research problem with direct industrial application

• Master's degree or PhD in CS, AI, Data Science, Engineering or related STEM field
• 3–5 years of experience with NLP or language understanding in production environments (text classification, information extraction, semantic search, RAG, or generative systems)
• 3–5 years of applied NLP or computer vision with real-world data and operational constraints
• Experience across sectors: Healthcare, Financial Services, Mobility/Transport, Agriculture
