ph3Job Details /h3pJob Location: NAS Sigonella, Italy; Job Title: Site Safety Health Officer L1 SSHO /ph3Scope /h3pDedicated safety professional responsible for all accident prevention, risk management, and compliance. /ph3Duties /h3ulliPrepares, updates, and enforces the Accident Prevention Plan (APP). /liliConducts daily safety inspections of worksites and enforces controls. /liliProvides immediate correction and stop-work authority in unsafe conditions. /liliEnsures compliance with U.S. and Italian safety laws, NAVFAC, and DoD requirements. /liliMaintains safety logs, incident reports, and OSHA/DOL reporting. /liliLeads Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs). /liliConducts toolbox safety meetings and coordinates refresher training. /liliInvestigates accidents and near misses, identifies root causes, and recommends corrective actions. /liliInterfaces with the Government Safety Office, providing reports and participating in safety councils. /li /ulh3Mandatory Experience Certifications /h3ulliLevel 1 SSHO training and qualifications per EM 385-1-1. /liliContinuous learning compliance with EM 385-1-1. /li /ulh3Preferred / Desirable Certifications /h3ulliOSHA 30-hour Construction Safety. /liliBCSP CHST (Construction Health Safety Technician). /liliCSP (Certified Safety Professional). /li /ulh3Disclaimer /h3pThe responsibilities and qualifications outlined above are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by those in this position.
