PLC & Automation Software Engineer

The Person

To strengthen our Engineering team, we are looking for a PLC & Automation Software Engineer to work on software development for industrial machinery and automation systems.

The person will join a multidisciplinary technical environment, working closely with mechanical, electrical, and automation engineering teams to develop integrated, reliable, and high-performance machine control systems.

Main Responsibilities:

• designing, developing, and implementing software solutions for automated machinery and industrial production systems;
• programming and configuring PLCs, preferably Siemens TIA Portal;
• developing and configuring HMI interfaces and SCADA systems;
• analyzing technical requirements and translating them into structured, maintainable, and well-documented software code;
• collaborating with electrical and mechanical engineers to define system architecture and ensure functional integration;
• testing, troubleshooting, and debugging software on real machines and in simulation environments;
• supporting installation, commissioning, and post-installation service activities;
• preparing and maintaining technical documentation, including flowcharts, diagrams, code comments, and user manuals;
• ensuring operational reliability and compliance with safety standards and industrial cybersecurity best practices.

Key features:

• solid experience in PLC programming, preferably with Siemens TIA Portal;
• knowledge of PLC programming languages and environments, including Structured Text, Ladder Logic, and Function Block Diagram;
• knowledge of HMI/SCADA systems;
• understanding of control logic, sensors, actuators, and industrial automation systems;
• fluent English;
• strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• attention to detail and focus on code quality;
• ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate within a team.
