The consultant will be supervised by the Senior Adviser, Statistics, Child Protection, Development and Disability within the Data and Analytics Section of the Office of Strategy and Evidence - Innocenti. /p pThe consultant will be responsible for supporting with the preparation and production of data-driven products and publications, designing and advancing methodological work, undertaking capacity‑building efforts and outreach/dissemination initiatives, and providing technical assistance to countries. /p pSpecific Tasks: /p ul liData compilation, preparing draft charts/tables/maps and drafting accompanying key messages and technicalnotes, drafting short pieces of text, fact-checking, and proofreading/reviewing data-driven publications duringthe design/layout stage /li liDesign and support methodological work to develop, validate and launch new data collection tools /li liDesign and promote the adoption and uptake of statistical classifications /li liUndertake and facilitate capacity-building efforts, workshops and initiatives /li liProvide technical assistance to countries for the implementation of data activities and to ensure the effective useand interpretation of data to inform programming /li /ul pIf you would like to know more about this consultancy, please review the complete Terms of Reference here:b TMC ToR.pdf /b /p pbTo qualify as an advocate for every child you will have: /b /p ul libEducation: /b Masters’ Degree in Demography, public health, other social sciences field /li libWork Experience /b:ulliAt least 10 years of experience working in the area of data, statistics and monitoring, preferably at the international level as well as in project management, preferably around data activities and initiatives. /liliDemonstrated previous experience with data compilation and analysis and preparation of data content for publications. /liliDemonstrated previous experience with designing and implementing testing and validation of data collection instruments. /li /ul /li libLanguage requirement: /b Fluency in English is required /li libSkills: /b /li liTechnical knowledge and expertise on data related to the topics of ECD and child protection. /li liStrong interpersonal and relationship-building skills in interacting with colleagues at all levels. /li liExcellent oral and written communication skills. /li liStrong organizational, planning, and analytical skills. /li liAbility to take ownership and initiative and can work both independently and effectively in a team environment. /li /ul pbDesirables: /bExposure to international professional contexts and/or multicultural environments within the United Nations System. /p pUNICEF’s Core Values of Care, Respect, Integrity, Trust and Accountability and Sustainability (CRITAS) underpin everything we do and how we do it.
