Product Owner (Maternity Cover)

Location: Remote (Italy) - quarterly travel to Siena, TuscanyLevel: Mid-level (3-5 years of relevant experience)Contract: Fixed-term, 12 months (with possibility of renewal) About Guild Living Guild Living is building the technology layer for senior living – combining resident engagement, wellbeing insight, and staff operations into a single platform. We are currently running a live pilot at our Siena property and preparing for our first commercial deployment. We are a team that genuinely believes technology can change how people age. We work at the intersection of AI and human wellbeing, in a space where good product decisions have real consequences for real people. The Role We are looking for a Product Owner to join us at a pivotal point in the product's life: moving from a live pilot with a small group of residents and staff to a commercial product ready for multiple sites and B2B customers. This role has been created to support our Head of Product & Technology during a planned period of maternity leave. The successful candidate will initially work closely alongside them, gaining a deep understanding of the product, customers, and roadmap before taking ownership of day‑to‑day product management responsibilities during their absence. Guild Living already has a clear product vision and roadmap for the coming year. The focus is now on delivering against that vision – keeping the backlog honest, requirements clear, and delivery moving. You won’t be expected to define strategy independently, but you will be expected to ask the right questions, structure the work, and keep everyone aligned. We're looking for someone who enjoys bringing clarity to complexity, can balance competing priorities, and is comfortable working in a collaborative environment where product, design, technology, and commercial considerations are closely connected. What You'll Be Working On Product Delivery and Execution

Own and maintain the product backlog, ensuring work is prioritised, refined, and clearly defined for delivery – in coordination with the Tech Lead and Product Designer Translate business and user needs into actionable requirements, collaborating with the Tech Lead and Product Designer on UX and technical feasibility Define acceptance criteria and support a shared Definition of Done Coordinate release planning and communicate upcoming releases to stakeholders Participate in reviews, demos, and feedback sessions, incorporating learnings into future prioritisation Support the team's Kanban workflow, helping identify blockers and maintain delivery momentum Manage expectations across technology, design, and leadership – providing clear visibility into priorities, risks, and trade‑offs

Commercial Launch Support

Support the transition from pilot to commercial rollout through our first B2B partnership Help identify and prioritise product adaptations required for external customer environments, in collaboration with the Product Designer on UX and user needs Contribute to customer conversations and discovery activities, working alongside the Product Designer where research and UX insight overlap Work alongside the leadership team to ensure product delivery remains aligned with commercial launch milestones Track progress against launch objectives and surface risks early

Communication and Measurement

Define and monitor success metrics for key features and initiatives Maintain roadmap visibility for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders Communicate product decisions, priorities, and delivery status in a clear and concise way Gather feedback from users, customers, and internal stakeholders to inform future prioritisation

What We're Looking For Essential

3-5 years in a Product Owner or Product Manager role, ideally within a small or growing organisation Experience owning and managing a product backlog from refinement through delivery- A strong product instinct – able to get to the root of a problem before reaching for a solution, and honest about whether something needs to be built Defaults to simpler when simpler works, and treats prioritisation as a discipline, not a formality Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and non‑technical audiences Comfortable translating business goals and user needs into clear product requirements Experience working closely with engineering and design teams Comfortable working in a fast‑moving environment with evolving priorities and without heavy process or ceremony At ease with ambiguity and able to make pragmatic decisions when information is incomplete Professional fluency in both Italian and English (written and spoken)

Nice to Have

Background in health tech, care tech, or another mission‑driven sector Familiarity with senior living, eldercare, or wellbeing‑related products Experience supporting a product through a commercial launch or scale‑up phase
