TECHNICAL MANAGER – ELECTRONICS & EMBEDDED SYSTEMSLocation: Schio, ItalyEmployer: BFT AutomationAt the heart of product innovation in gate automation, access control, and smart home solutions, we seek a Technical Manager to lead the electronics department in our Engineering office located in Schio. The role involves designing and integrating hardware (HW) and firmware (FW) for automation systems used in residential access.You will report to the Platform Manager and be responsible for delivering robust, connected, and industrialized electronic solutions, ensuring performance, reliability, and cost competitiveness.Key Responsibilities
Validate design choices (cost, performance, robustness) made by technical engineers.Interface with product marketing and system engineers to translate needs into technical solutions.Collaborate with software, cloud, and IoT teams.Ensure quality and repeatability in high‑volume production.Guarantee product maintenance under serial life conditions.Actively contribute to continuous improvement tools, methodologies, and standards of the technical profession.Lead and develop the team, including roles, responsibilities, and skill development.Create and drive individual and team development plans (EMC, RF, low power, safety).Empower teams in cross‑functional collaboration;
support and motivate members to achieve project goals.Contribute to recruitment and ensure compliance with standards (e.G., activity monitoring, design reviews).
Minimum Requirements
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or equivalent.5–10 years of firmware and/or hardware development experience for embedded systems in industrial environments (high‑volume products).3–5 years of team management experience within electronics technical offices.Fluent professional English;
French is a plus.
Technical Skills
Knowledge of microcontroller‑based embedded systems, C programming, and hands‑on experience managing "System On Module" systems through serial interfaces and APIs.Analog, digital, and power electronics (motor control, power supply).PCB design and validation (EMC, thermal, reliability).Knowledge of RF/IP protocols (e.G., "Zigbee, Thread").Strong understanding of industrial and manufacturing constraints.Design‑to‑cost and mass production mindset.Nice to have: experience in automation, motor control, access control, or smart home.
